Dollfie help - Faceup
Sun 2011/05/15 04:31 JST
Hello
I've been trying to do a face-up for my dollfie, Setsuki. But after I putted the spray, a white thing appeared on her face, when I wash it away it disappears, but then it will appear again!
If you have done any face up, has this ever happened to you? I don't know what to do, I don't think I've done anything wrong. Help please!

Never seen something like that, maybe you should keep a bit more distance when spraying.
Don't know if thats the problem, but thanks :)
Omfg... Oo >.<
I can remember something like that. If I find the topic again, I'll link it.
Thanks, I really don't know what to do >.<
This appeared after you tried sealing the face-up, right?
Can't find the topic with the picture again, but maybe this helps:

And yeah, you have to remove the face-up...I guess. :/
I can't see the topic because I don't have an account, but thanks anyway
Ah, right. >.<"
There just stands it's often because of humidity or heat.
Need to be more careful next time. Thanks for telling me ^^

Thanks! ^^
Hmmm it seems like that when you applied the sealent, the surface was wet... i think i had a similar prob when i trued to seal one of the vinyl phone covers :S sadly i have no idea how to remove it...
Oh, so it was because of that!
Thanks, at least I know where it came from =)
I think you put too much of it ,when the coats are too thicks it can crack like this .I'm afraid
you will have to remove everything and start all over again .
Thanks!
Well, it wasn't that great, so starting over it's not that bad ^^
Hello~ I've never had a problem like this but it is most likely due to spraying too close or moisture in the sealant.
As you can see there's a slight puffiness/crust on the sealant (this is basically like a fine powder that protects the face). Shake the can between each use until you hear the ball inside and then shake it more for about 15 seconds or until the can is slightly warm (warm it with your hands.)
You're going to have to remove it like Silica said but what I always do is spray it on the headcap or some other surface to test how the spray is working. :)
Hope I helped~ ^__^
Thanks a lot for your answer!
There are two common causes to this problem. One is holding the can too close to the object when spraying--if you're too close the particles don't spread out enough and end up too thick in places. You should be about 6 inches (15cm) away. The other potential cause is local weather conditions. If it's too cold or too humid, the spray doesn't cure properly. Too cold is around freezing. Too humid is more vague, but it seems that about 75% humidity or higher are the most likely to do it. Either way, take off the white spray with rubbing alcohol, and try again--though if it's the weather, you may want to wait a few days for conditions to change, and definitely try at a different time of day next time.
Looks like I was careless using the spray. >.<
Thanks for your advice!
MSC is great stuff when it's on and dried properly, but it's a bit more sensitive to the weather than other sprays.
You're welcome! I hope to see Version 2.0 soon. :)
Her face is frosted because of humidity in the environment, also make sure to spray from 30cm away or more.
Thanks for your advice
What spray are you using? For dollfie dream or other bjd you want to use Mr. Super clear matte or Zoukeimura spray.
Clean everything off with Winsor&Newton brush cleaner or Acetone then wash with soap and let it air dry.
Before re-starting your faceup, make sure the head is dry and clean of any dust. Shake the can gently then spray one very light coat from 30cm away making circle motion. It should only take 2 seconds or you will have to much. Let it dry then start your face-up. If you apply powder blush, apply another light coat in between. Then when it's all done do another light coat. As long as your coats are very light (2 seconds spraying) and you let it dry between each coat it should be fine. Don't forget shaking the can lightly everytime. Good luck!
Yes, I've used Mr. Super Clear, but I was careless while using it. Thanks!
yes you'll have to start again sadly but some advice for the face-up. Use a fine detail brush (small brush with a very pointed tip) for any eye lashes or the line between the eyebrows and the eyelid. And be careful not to have too much paint on the brush. Just take your time and she'll look great =)
Thanks! ^^
That problem occur when you spray too much, the weather is humid.
To avoid this, make sure you spray the face on good shiny day and with good ventilation.

Your posts are cool, thanks a lot
You're welcome. :)
I had a similar problem, cause it was bitter cold outside. But it stopped as soon as I held the can far far away from the head. ^_^
