Hi-Nu Gundoom Review pt1 preview

Posted by Duqs [www]

This is my second Gundam based on the UC-Generation and quite honestly I am quite surprised at the reviews I’ve seen from different bloggers. That’s not a typo btw, that’s really a GundOOM.

The first reason I was surprised was that for a china-branded Gundam (McModel), this mobile suit actually looks nice even as a disassembled pile of plastic parts. A lot of people equate that china-branded stuff are often lacking in quality or downright bootleg copies. Second, a lot of reviews point out that this HGC (high grade concept as McModel calls it) is waaay better than Bandai’s Hi-Nu Gundam. The best part is, it’s a really cheap buy, almost the same as buying a HG 1/100 Flag or Tieren Taozi. Now that’s bang for your buck.

Thats a 1/144 HG Hi-Nu Gundoom's box versus an MG 00QanT Gundam. That really looks the stuff PGs are made of XD

Box is almost as big as a PG gunpla and it has an alternate cover art at the back too

I really dont like buying HG model kits, but somehow i feel nice for buying an HG Hi-Nu Gundoom XD it looks kind of more detailed despite the "scale"

I saw plenty in Divisoria some time ago. Promising, but I have yet to see a finished (actual straight-built) one yet.

I have this too! Building it right now.

Besides awesome detailing, gotta love those funnels and the long fuel tank! Obviously beats the Bandai HG by miles but in my opinion is also better than the MG as well. (Outside appearance anyways, since the MC 1/144..or more like 1/120.. doesn't have an inner frames.)

I bought if from xiaojie, he has a website: http://gundamcentral.weebly.com/ you can try negotiating with him about the shipping method if you don't mind waiting it can be cheaper. I bought mine for total cheaper than what he listed on his website, thought the shipping takes longer. Or you can buy it from samuel decal they also have it for a good price. Alternatively you can resort to ebay.

Hmm..just went to samueldecal.com and I think they sold out..and those nice effect part wings are only limited initial production so if you buy any re-release they don't come with those extra stuff. Bandai and Wave does these extra 1st order things with some gundam and fss kits too.

didnt know that the effect parts were limited. Some bloggers said that they got 2 hyper bazookas in their gundooms, i only got one XD

I can see some subtle changes on some parts, I guess that's good.

I got one and after working on it I can say it puts to shame the MG and HGUC of Bandai, straight from the proportions to extras and gimmicks. It's a really nice display piece, although it has a couple of cons, starting by the shoulders which plain suck and that the wing binders sag down when you attach the wing effect parts, but that aside it's a really good kit.
