The vast majority of high school manga and anime series released nowadaysd are primarily focused on the lives of the students, with the teachers either non-existent or relegated to being mere background pieces in most scenes (although Azumanga Daioh and K-on touched on a few of the teachers lives, the series was mostly based on the pupils)
S.S. Astro on the other hand shows us high school life from the teacher’s viewpoint.

Man, I bought the first volume of this 4koma over a year ago! Last I checked there's been nothing since...
Lovely artwork, I should check it out.
One of my favourite 4komas when it was released here... Too bad Yen Press didn't publish anymore (if there are any more of this sweet, sweet 4koma series).
Sadly, there's yet to be anything about another volume, or even another page...
To say the least.
here's what the wikipedia page on the manga says about it;
"The manga started serialization in Houbunsha's seinen manga magazine Manga Time Kirara Carat on February 24, 2005, and the first bound volume was released on February 27, 2007. However, the manga has not appeared in the magazine since November 28, 2007."
that says to me one of two things;
a] the artist counld'nt continue witht eh series due to ill health [ Eri Takenashi of kannagi fame is an example of this]
b] the series was put on indefinite hiatus/cancelled [ also consider that, going by the wiki entry, only 9 more episodes were published after the first volume[and barely half of the first volume] which would have made it non profitable to release a second volume.
basically looks like thats all we're getting - puity - i think this would have made an interesting series, and a fairly entertaining anime series.
I'll certianally check it out. I was watching "my ordianary life" yesterday and I was thinking I like to see more with the teachers. Then tried to think of teacher centric anime, and really only thought GTO, and Genshiken. While they're both good they rely on pretty sever premise.
