Omake & behind the scenes at Garden Photoshoot.
A lot of the time, people ask me how I do certain photos or pictures I take. This made me think about what I really do have to go thru to get specific pictures. On the last outing I had with local doll people, two friends of mine decided to take candid photos of me while I did some posing and shots of my girls.
I found some of them extremely funny, I hammed it up for a few shots and I even saw a few pictures that were very sweet.
So for something a little different, I decided to show everyone some behind the scenes pics of what goes on with me and my friends at a photoshoot. =3
These pics aren't in any type order and there is no story. I'll just explain what was going on in the picture so you're not going "Huh?" XD
This is me adjusting Ed's Rin for him. She didn't have a really nice look while seated so I went over and adjusted her position for Ed. Not that he asked me to, I just did it for fun. Like he could do anything anyway since he was all the way across the pond from me. XD
Here I am adjusting Mamimi's stockings. They had fallen down a little so I was fixing them up. If you look hard you can see Mamimi's head and arms reaching up at me near my left shoulder. Kind of cute.
Mamimi and I waving at Ed while he takes our picture. This is when I found out he and D'Ann were taking shots of me.
I have no idea why I was on the ground but hey, the grass was nice and cool and very soft. XD
While I was on my back, someone said I looked like a turtle who got flipped on his shell. So I hammed it up and flailed my arms and legs to act like I was trying to flip over. Notice Mai and Mamimi trying to ignore me in the background.....
Mamimi is trying to smack me in the nose for messing with her earlier. I was laughing at her and she didn't appreciate it.
After giving up on smacking me, I try and sweet talk her out of her little mood. I think it worked. =3 I think this is a pretty cute shot of the two of us.
Now that Mamimi is in a good mood, we both do the turtle pose again. We're so silly.
Ed takes pics of me in the WORST positions just to mess with me. Look, I do what it takes to get a good shot! Quit picking on me! XD
Here I am positioning Mai so she won't fall from the tree.
Ed and I are trying to get a good flash for his photo with a wireless flash module. I was all "This isn't gonna work" and he was all "Oh yes it will!" and we were back and forth. So D'Ann takes a pic of us being silly. ^_^
D'Ann tried so many times to get a good photo of Miu but *I* kept getting in the way. XD
Ah! That's why I was on the ground! I was messing with D'Ann and Miu! I am such a jerk....
Now I am trying to do the same pose as Miu. And I don't look nearly as good a she does doing it. Maybe I need Panyaa and that monkey....

And finally, me loaded up with a tripod, a doll stand, my camera, my doll bag and various other things I needed. We were there over 4 hours so I had to carry a lot of things.
So I hope you enjoyed seeing some behind the scenes stuff. I know I had fun with it and hopefully you did too!

All photographers at one point end up in some kinda silly position. At least you weren't balancing on one toe off the edge of a bridge or something (nearly true story!)
I have a picture of Hovis where he's crouching really low to get a shot and his butt kinda falls out XDD I'm all over the shop when taking pictures too, especially macro shots of insects and flowers ^^
Ha ha! I am always in odd positions when taking shots of my girls. I just think it's funny that Ed took pics of me like that. Funny to see what yourself looks like when concentrating only on your girls and getting that picture right. ^_^

Heh, fun! I particularly enjoyed the shots of Mamimi on your chest; it's like you have a cute little anime fairy hanging out with you.
Thanks! Ed and D'Ann put Mai and Mamimi on me after I flopped out on the ground. After that it was a natural segue into those pics. After I saw them I was happy with how cute they were.

Thanks! Yeah, having fun is a big part of photoshoots to me. Even if its just me in the house, I have to be enjoying myself for things to work out nicely. Otherwise you'll know if it was pushed or forced in the pics.

Ummm. Aim it BEHIND you! The entire wall behind becomes the reflector and you get beautiful light. Requires a powerful flash unit, though.
I was a former pro wedding shooter. You can't tell by my crummy pix I take of my girls at home. But, I no longer have the pro gear needed for good shots.
I think we did aim it behind a few times. ^_^ Ed just got that remote flash so he was using it any chance he got. XD
Just experiment with it. Controlling light is easy once you realize what you can do with a good flash unit. Then, it becomes second nature.

Ahh I really want to go to a doll meet-up! You looked like you were having a really good time! XD I haven't found any meet-up's round here...and none of my friends are doll owners...and work owns my life....(T-T)
Most of our meetings see a good time. We don't always go out like this tho. And since summer is on the way with loads of heat, we wont be back outside for a while. We normally hit a cafe for lunch and sit around talking. That or we meet at my place for a sewing meet. Which will be in a few weeks.
What stinks is none of the locals have Dollfies, they're all resins. So I have to keep up the vinyl goodness at local meetups. XD
What a great idea having a behind the scenes look at how the day went. I'm not sure who enjoyed the day more you or your girls...lol. It's nice to get a sneak peek of what goes into posing your girls just right. Plus having lots of fun while your at it. Also the pics of you and Mamimi together are super sweet. :)
Thank you! None of these were planned but after seeing how many oddball pics Ed and D'Ann had of me, I decided a post would be kind of fun. I'm glad I did it too since a lot of people seem to like it. =3
And thanks about the pics of Mamimi and I. I really like those and I think they show how a lot of Dollfie parents feel about their girls. Plus it has the whole "Beauty and the Beast" feel. Just don't call Mamimi a beast around me! XD

Of course we did! XD Not that I cared. A few people asked questions about the girls but most of them said nothing and went on their way.
Aaww! I want people to ask questions about MY daughter! But I guess she's never been out. :/
I did happen to bring her to show off to the girl I babysit while her parents were having an anime party... everyone was like "Oh my gosh, where did you get that?!" ;D
