What brought you..

to dannychoo? (Sorry if this has been asked before, I don't remember seeing a post...and it was probably on the old site)
So anyway, what brought you here, how did you come to www.dannychoo.com???
Myself, I was at a friends place and he usually has (no joke) about 100 tabs open, so I was just flicking through and I saw the 'Choco Party Good Good' video, can't remember who psoted it, and so I was pulled into to check the site out and after, I believe a couple months I signed up :D
Viva La Danny~

Saw the Trooper in Shibuya video, amongst some others. Went to his site, and liked what I saw. Its currently the only blog I read on a regular basis :)
I could have said the very same thing ^^
I've been here ever since before Danny worked for GSC (One of my more fav times), but I made a second account because I lost my old account info >_>;;
I think it was right when nendo's started being made, I guess.
Nice for asking that question, me a friend of mine was seeing this site in 2006 while looking this site in 2 years, about 2007 or 2008 i was signed here, looking here like i can finnaly meet a friend here in philippine otakus using this site but now, everyone in the country as well.& kinda like some info in games, anime etc...
First saw Danny when he guest blogged on BoingBoing. It didn't register with me at the time, but then Cory linked an entry later and I took a look around and realized that i liked what I saw.
Joined in early March I think. :)
Ooops, Late March. :p
Saw a review of Tomoe (Excellent Model PVC).. And decided to sign up after some of the NSFW images has some Mirai mark for non members.
It wasn't until Late 2008 until I've actively participated, it was at first about gunplas..
when i saw the post for Aoi-chan (it was about a year ago i think? O.x). thought she was the most beautiful doll...and then more beautiful dolls kept showing up.
just recently joined figure.fm :D
I'm one of the comrades what joined up after the Boing Boing guest stint. I loved the Dancing Trooper vids and stuck around for the rest.
I had been interested in anime/manga for many years before I came across DC.com. When I finally did I didn't think much about it, then I stopped to read Danny's post on "Uchimizu". After that I kept coming back to read more and back in March I officially joined DC.com. The best part about it is getting to talk with people who share the same interests as you without having to deal with the haters. (^_^) Thanks for making it fun everyone. *bow*
i think it was back in 2006? i saw some great article about gundams. been a long time lurker and only started participating recently this year?
I had seen the RSS on so many sites that one day I clicked it.
I don't even remember anymore. get off my lawn you kids!!! *shakes cane*
Hehehe ^_^.
Now now, Necro, take it easy. Lest we should let the young-uns take over.
Was looking for info on Comiket and found some here ^^; Lurked around for half a year before registering XD
i dont remember exactly if i saw DC.com on a link or article but im sure it was at Hector's Blog http://www.kirainet.com/ and that was almost over a 2 yrs ago =P
My memory is a bit fuzzy, but I'm sure I came across DC through one of Actar's videos.
I found DC the exact same way xD
Started when I had just gotten back into the Otaku lifestyle, and mostly just looking up tidbits about Japan. One Google search led to another, which led to one blog, which led to another. The next thing I knew half the news/articles I was reading came from Danny. I've been here ever since.
Though, one other thing that kept me coming back was the community that Danny built-up around his site. This is one of the few sites that I truly enjoy visiting, because of the lack of trolling from the user base. **three cheers for DC**
I don't remember well even though I only joined this year! OTL TT^TT
i'm one of the very few people who watched Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo and Kannagi is my favorite character from it, so when I found out that she was getting her first (and maybe last) figure I was looking for more information on her, found NekoMagic, googled on the other Wave figure of Akiha, and it brought me here :D
of course I had seen this site many times before but only now am I visiting it every day, lol xD
Pretty sure I came here through BoingBoing.
back in early 07 I saw on G4tv's attack of the show when they did the blog watch segment. the blog I originally visited was Kirainet.com, I saw Danny's site in the blog roll and I clicked it.
Im saying its the Tour of Goodsmile Offices.
Err, I dunno. I just wandered around and ended up in this site and went "Wow, so many otakus here".
And became a member ever since, not an active member though ^_^;;
recommended by husband to check out and was hooked :P
I used to run across Danny Choo all the time when I was younger and looking up otaku-related things on Google. But I always seemed to see the worst entries or perverted pictures of Mirai and I thought that dc.com was a really pervy website and so I stayed away, hahahaha. I never bothered to come back to actually see what it was about until one of my friends got hooked. I eventually got tired of having no idea wtf she was talking about so I checked it out, too.
while searching for virtual health care paraphernalia~
Googled for a site about anime and Japan, the results: DannyChoo.com. Best search result ever!
It was in 2006 when I was looking up information on Japanese culture and I came across this site, read some articles and enjoyed it so I ended up bookmarking the site.
I didn't register until mid 2007 when I was reading one of those "ecchi" posts with Mirai marks all over the pictures and it noted that by making an account you can see the original picture without the marks. Needless to say I registered after that article and have been lurking ever since. ^^;;
Well, that's my story. ^^
My friend always gave me links to news on this site. it was like everyday for around 2 months until i signed up as a member. Then i got interested with danny's life style. inspired me to do the same. not about the figures and others but doing what you love to do. its not all about the money you know, its about living life..:)
Well said!
For the figure pictures! I think I discovered Dannychoo through flickr or someone's blog. I can't remember. x_x
I believe it was the Facebook group called Anime Figurine Network that got me to figure.fm when there was this figure contest happening. One thing led to another and I found myself browsing DannyChoo.com and now it's a full circle that we're back at figure.fm again ^^;
Sometime last year, I was looking for pictures of Queen's Blade figures. Dannychoo.com showed in the search results and I went to the site. I clicked around on the site for a bit and started lurking fairly regularly after that. Then I decided to finally join in April of this year.
Found Dannychoo through his feature on CNN. I heard about him before that though through Adun's blog but always had this impression that his site was not safe for work. One day, I took a chance, and visited DC to see what it was all about. Glad I did because this is the first anime community I have been to without lots of trolls or bitter people.
I remember I stumbled onto the site completely on accident. I don't exactly remember how I found it but I do know it kept showing up more and more until I decided to visit the site regularly.
It only took me about 2 to 3 months of lurking until I actually registered as a member.

that's what brought me here, along with the gunpla tutorial for busy people...don't know if that's still around though...
I feel so old...(points to date stamp on that article)
Same here. I came across the tutorial for busy people and decided to read on because I liked the writing style.
I was searching for info about the Eureka 7 LFO figures a few years back. I didn't realise it was this place at first, I think the design was different.
It was only a year or so after that when I decided to sign up. I'm not sure what the second thing that brought me was.
i saw it only Generationotaku.net ~~ and i signed up for it like 5-6 months ago
I think it was looking at his figure photos. I think. >.> I can't remember now since I lurked for about a year before joining.
From a Gaming magazine called GameAxis and apparently it has an interview with Danny Choo . After reading The review , The site sounds good .
So yeah ,I'm here Right NOw _^
I started visiting Danny's site near the end of his version 2.0 days or the hexagon website design, to when he first deployed the orange "D" or the orange square with the white "D". I was looking for easy guides in building gunpla and I stumbled upon his guide to "Building Model Kits for Lazy People". I loved it! My first serious model kit was the MG Gundam ver. OYW.
I've been hitting up his site for news and otaku info ever since.
Dancing Stormtrooper in Tokyo vid brought me here, and I just so happened to be collecting anime figures which is what kept me here
My first accidental post reading on DC...was total coincidence that i found the place...stayed ever since...
By the line of mechas fate :D
Okay, that was lame, but really, I just opened dccom recently after several years ago.
I actually have visited dccom since back then, but I just joined the community just this year, around two months ago.
What brought me back to dccom and makes me decide to join in? Like I said, the mechas(yes, it was actually no joke XD)
I remember the first time I opened dccom again was when I was looking for some pics of Dygenguard, and found the news in dccom about the huge Dygenguard plamo(it seems. I didn't see the complete post), and decides to join in after something like "Oh, right, this was one site that I wanted to join". And so it started ^^
I was reading a blog post on sankaku and some send that the guy there look it danny choo and he was like a super famous otaku so I look it him up and I got his site.
A seen a trooper dance vid, and i was just drawn in.
No idea how I ended up here. Found dc.com in 2007. Was lurking a lot and signed up in early 2008. Was drawn in by the figure photoshots (and meeting fellow figure collectors) and Dannys random-live posts. Sensed a lot of thought in most posts back then...
Another thing that keept me here was the politness in the community, cause the web can be quite unfriendly sometimes^^
I used to always find this site on Google searches... although I hate to admit it, I was not very fond of it at the time, but it kept having things I wanted, like reviews for certain figures, and such, so eventually, I grew to like it.
Through an article about broken Figma hands via google.
And when I browsed the site a bit more.. "Hey, isn't this the Tokyo Trooper guy?"
Now here I am :D
Danny's amazing gunpla skills. 'nuff said for me ^_^
I was first introduced to dc.com by a close freind, who've suddenly went undercover now... We haven't seen each other for almost 2 years now... 0_0
I lurks ever since until earlier this year I decided to participate in the community... ^_^
*Friend
I think I found the site while exploring the internets one day. I clicked around the site and said, "hey, I like this!". I started to follow it on a daily basis, and became a lurker. I then figured I might as well get an account with dannychoo since I was following it, and thus, here I am ^^.
, that it was by monster little news that i found this wonderful site ^_^ i was surfing through monster little favorites and clicked on dannychoo.com on 2008! ever since ive been addicted to dannychoo.com and its awesome posts~ ^_^
what brought me here is the news about the discriminating issues about the eroge industry. It made us ignite in anger. my deceased friend who was once a member here named "noob" (i dunno if some of you guys knew my late friend) wanted to re-join because of that news but later he gave me his internet account before he passed away. Then the newly improved DC.com made me join using my own account instead of my friend's. so simply, I'm keeping my friend's shoes running. ^^
Early 2007 I was doing a random search for gundam stuff and found the site by chance through "Mecha scientific". I've been a lurker since then till I joined earlier this year.
was looking j-list back around January, i think, and started following occasionally, then gradually on a daily basis. kinda sucked in by all the new technologies information.
i been here accidently actually my friend is an otaku too my friend told me to go to this website but i feel lazy to go to this website but when i go to google search something i accidently click on this website i dont even know this website got so many cool thing like figure, anime and alot so i start to like this website and i join it^^
I randomly saw the Shibuya and Rick Trooper vids when I was looking up various 501st vids and went to the site little did I know it was an otaku paradise ^^
I think I discovered him by accident through Youtube or Danbooru.
iirc, I used to stalk Danny's goodsmile.info corner daily. Then I realized he had a whole blog too, and went there.
I was looking for anime styled bedrooms, came across Otacool, followed links to Dannychoo.com
Also - why does the screen shot in the pic have different articles then what I see ?
I've got Otacool 2 on my homescreen, but the rest are all different.
Weird.
Wait - nvm, I'm stupid.
Yu're not stupid, you are just careless, which may be stupid, but you just forget, silly goose
I just came online looking for some cool figures and came here just an hour ago or so. IDK, I don't get out that much due to being stuck in a location that is prone to being isolated.
Learned about DannyChoo.com from a worker at Toylet.net. I've been into anime figure collecting for years and never heard of sites like these until about a year ago.
Brought here by Alodia.
I was doing the usual - checking figure sites and reviews on figures, and I happened to find Danny. At first it seemed like any other site, but then after a while I saw he was different.
Now, of course, there's barely a figure blogger that doesn't mention Danny somewhere! ^^
It was thanks to a member of a board I used to be part of. I don't go there anymore mainly because only the board's active these days and I rarely see the host. The site hasn't been updated in five or six years.
I was looking for Gunplas, and suddenly in my search engine.. a little sparkling link appeared that had a tag saying.. figure.fm. then tadda!
