Double Dollfie Dream: Noumi and Yukino
This is my introduction to Figure.fm. About a year ago, this site came up as a recommendation from Google Reader. Since then, it has been one of my most read blogs in my reader lists. Initially, I scoffed at the idea of Dollfies, but I started to see a lot more of the customs and different models and all of a sudden I "caught the bug". So I told myself I would be about 1 year away from "adopting" a DD. Then the Kyoto Dolpa 8 after event drawing came and I decided that Noumi Kudryavka would be my first Dollfie. I never thought I would win the auction, and began to consider a base DD as a alternative. Lo and behold, Kud would be mine and I would wait an agonizing 2-3 months for her arrival.
Needless to say, I wasn't finished w/ Kud. I decided I wanted a DD as well and make her my custom. Yukino is the one that I wanted, but out of stock for awhile. I added her to the Volks Shopping cart every DAY until she was available. Recently, both of them arrived a few days apart. First Yukino arrived, then Kud. I opened both of them on the same day to savor the awesomeness.

But Yukino came first, she is "younger" than Kud.
Those eyes are pretty right out of the box.
Her accessories. I had some trouble putting on...umm...her undergarment. I couldn't hook it to the back, so I left it unhooked. (Not pictured)

A minor drawback that I researched throughly. She has trouble standing up. It seems like her left knee is a little loose. I tried to screw it tighter, but it still fell loose. Guess I'm gonna have to spring for the KIPS.
Most of her clothing on. I'm going to keep just the skirt and shirt on for right now and have the rest as show.

She is able to stand on her own! Thank goodness.

Lets say the two are getting along quite well so far. Yukino needs a little more clothes, I'll be sure lace her up in the best. A work in progress.

Congrats! It is hard to resist joining the Dark Side eventually. What kind of customisations are you considering for Yukino?
Right now 3 major things. Purple clothing, Purple Pigtails and glasses. Why so much purple? It's my favorite color. I see a lot of stockings and some boots I saw on eBay, but a full dress in the color is getting hard to find. I have that twin tail wig. It is very nice! It is kind of big, so a silicon cap and protective cloth head cap are very useful. The silicon cap holds things in place. Since the wig is dark, the cloth head cap will help protect Yukino's head from staining.

Some parents with this wig style notice that the hairs can get out of place. Volks' wig oil spray and wig mist can help keep it the hairs in place.

Congrats! What cute girls. I can't wait to see Yukino's new look. Will you be renaming her as well? Can I suggest using a soft toothbrush to comb their hair? It will get rid of the flyaways.
