Fanime 2011 - Day 1

I stayed at the Saint Claire Hotel, less than a five minute walk to the convention center.

It was a nice hotel, but the room was a bit small, even more so for six people staying in this space for a few days. But we all managed well and it was comfortable enough.

This is the front of the San Jose Convention Center, home of FanimeCon.

This is what it looks like right inside the front doors.

Picked up my pre-registration badge.

Giant game room with arcade machines, console gaming with consoles like the NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Playstation 1,2, and 3, XBox 360, etc. Tables are for board games. I didn't really play too many games here during the con, mostly to go around to see the other sights.

Time Crisis 4 is a fan favorite of mine.

Gumby, wow that show is old but I remember a bit of it when I was really young.

An awesome SSBB cosplay group. They were doing fighting poses too, you can see those photos in my Flickr.

The Dealers Hall had massive lines due to it being a very popular part of the convention. It's where you can buy a whole bunch of loot. I took a lot of photos in there, and some of them are below.

I still need to complete my mini K-On! plush collection. I can never find the ones I need, and I didn't find any here at Fanime.

Dakimakura and messenger bags. I saw several people walking around with their newly bought Dakimakura. They must be happy.

Found some Danny Choo T-shirts here. Was not expecting that.

Special contact lens to change the color of your eyes.

Ocarinas, some were Zelda themed, some were basic looking. Works like a flute I think. Comes with tutorials and basic music instructions.

Looking at these made me remember those animal costumes that the K-On! gang wears when out and about advertising for the club.
