Fanime 2011 - Day 2
Hey everyone! This is my coverage of Day 2 of the 2011 FanimeCon that was held in San Jose, California during the Memorial Day weekend. It was my first Fanime and first anime convention of this size. I took many pictures at this event (619 photos) that you can all see in my Flickr set called "Fanime 2011".
My posts about FanimeCon 2011 are more like photojournalism type posts. I'm going to do a summary post on my blog Topic "Otaku" soon.
All photos are in chronological order, meaning that timeline wise they are in the order I took them so you can see what the day was like for me for the whole day.

Getting ready for Day 2. No the camera is not mine.

Back to the Dealers Hall where we see a booth with Touhou goodies only.

Madoka Kaname cosplayer.

K-On! Cosplay gathering.

Minecraft is really starting to become known, seeing how we have this guy and some creepers wandering around the con.

A cosplayer cosplaying as the Tokyo Storm Trooper. I asked him if he was cosplaying specifically as the TST, not just a normal Storm Trooper with a red band on his arm.

Wild *^$&#@ Appeared!

I don't know what this is.

I liked to visit the video rooms to see what they were showing and to rest. I only mostly watched animes I saw already or ones that looked interesting to me.

Normal Storm Troopers.

I think the Panty robot cosplayer was at the Cherry Blossom Festival in San Francisco as well.

Protesters preaching to us how we are sinners for what we love to do. Since this was my first con, I didn't know until someone told me that they are here every year. Many con goers were present defending what they love, the randomness and fun of Japanese Pop Culture.

From Yotsuba! I forget the name of this box robot though.

I thought at first that these guys in orange were prisoners or cosplayers. It would of been cool if they were like those dancing Filipino prisoners you see on YouTube. Turns out they are the logistics team. What is logistics anyways?
On another note, that white truck blocked the protesters and it was funny in my mind. The truck moved back and forth while looking like business as usual. The protesters found new places to do their stuff though.

I was in costume at the time, a lady wanted a picture of me taking a picture of her.

Battle of the Ice Cream Men!

The maids from the Fanimaid cafe did a dance and got attention from like a lot of people. I did not visit the Maid Cafe though.

Awesome cosplayers as the Morning Rescue guys from that Japanese commercial shown during airings of Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

Does that watermelon guy even belong in this picture of "Airbender" cosplayers?

Live feed from the Crunchyroll booth.

Cute, or かわいい!!!

I was dressed as a ninja, so this was a complement to me. On the other side of the card read, "I Support Pirates".

I think that guy in the middle cosplaying as Hirano Kouta is perfect.

Raiden from the Metal Gear Solid series.

This is what you see if you don't get a good place during cosplay gatherings.

Tigger shows that he is capable of dancing as well as hopping around.

Some people requested that I do a pose where I'm fighting Jack Sparrow here. I wish I could see those pictures though.

At around 5 I decided to get ready for Musicfest concerts. I went back to my hotel room, changed out of my cosplay, and headed to wait in line with the rest of the hundreds of people.

I made a cup ramen soup to eat before I went out. Ice Cream was only $1.50, water and CapriSun I brought with me.

Planes were always flying low overhead because the San Jose international airport was nearby.

It started to rain while waiting in line.

The line started moving past 6, I can see my hotel from the line.

Inside the Civic Center before the FLOW concert. The staff kept on telling us not to take pictures. I snapped these anyways to show some of what it looks like inside.

The concert was so much fun. It was the best part of Fanime in my opinion, not only because FLOW is one of my favorite J-rock bands, but also because I'm a music lover in general. This is the scene after the concert is over, picture taken from the front of the convention center looking at the Civic Center.

Nice! What kind of gear do you have and lens?
Actually that camera is not mine, it's a friend of mine. All I got is a Canon Powershot SD1100IS, basically a point and click 8.0 mega pixel camera, nothing special when compared with their camera gear and lens.
Awwwww yeaah Deadmou5!
So, cool when I see people put a lot into their cosplay accessories! Awesome!
Was this directed at yaoi cosplayers or was there some rally that was held outside the convention center?
Ill take a picture of you, and you of me!
Ran! Do want. guess I'll have to keep an eye out for her :D
Nice plane shot :)
Ohhh you must of been next to me I was taking an exact photo of this also:D
She made a awesome Reimu. I tried talking to her about her costume, but unfortunately she didn't speak English:(
For some reason I could not find a Celty there but I did find an awesome Shizuo complete with vending machine.
Nice photos. I love seeing other peoples post about this because I get to see the other cosplayers I missed. As well as other events.
Nice photos. I like that Cowboy Bebop Jet cosplay and that Old Spice cosplay.
It's Danbo!
So cute!~
GOD DAMN IT. I officially regret not going this year. FFFFFFUUUUUUUUU
I feel the same, I should of went with my friends
Glad to see these guys were still up to their shenanigans. That pastor is annoying, lol.

The guy with the watermelon head is suppose to be a target of the fire lord that Aang was suppose to practice on I believe. xD
