Fanime 2011 - Day 3
Hey everyone! This is my coverage of Day 3 of the 2011 FanimeCon that was held in San Jose, California during the Memorial Day weekend. It was my first Fanime and first anime convention of this size. I took many pictures at this event (619 photos) that you can all see in my Flickr set called "Fanime 2011".
My posts I did about FanimeCon 2011 are more like photojournalism type posts. I'm going to do a summary post on my blog Topic "Otaku" soon.
All photos are in chronological order, meaning that timeline wise they are in the order I took them so you can see what the day was like for me for the whole day.

Creepers passing by one another.

Funny story with this paper ninja star. Since I was in traditional Japanese ninja cosplay, I guess someone thought it would be fun to throw a throwing star made out of paper at me. I'm not sure if it was really intended for me as if just passed by my head. I looked around a didn't see anyone obvious of doing it so I took this photo to remember this incedent and moved on.

Many photographers were out and about taking photos in the nature areas and other places where the scenery was nice and secluded from other people.

A friend I know who is known for his Brain Age cosplays.

Hint to how I looked in costume at Fanime.

More star wars.

Best concert I've ever been to. I went to check if the Dealers Hall had anymore CDs but they were sold out. On Sunday they had a autograph secession but I didn't go, I didn't have anything for them to sign. Next time if they return to Fanime, I'll be ready with a pen and something for them to sign.

First we have some Madokas.

Sayaki Miki with an apple that Kyoko gave her.

Akemi Homuras all doing the hair flick. There are variations in each of the Homuras, one has Madoka's hair ribbon, one had the shield, and all have differences in the way their outfits look.

Homura-chan. Lovely.

Do you want to make a contract with Kyubey? Probably not (I hope).

Apparently Madoka falls victim to Kyubey's sales pitch. Homura(s) is sad.

Morning rescue to the rescue! Gotta love these guys.

Here comes trouble to the tea party! Charlotte aka SPOILER IN EPISODE 3!

Tomoe Mamis galore!

Like I said before, trouble is lurking behind and above.

Revenge?

Madoka and Sayaka truly are best friends.

..........

And this sums up Mami's demise if you have not watched the show yet. SPOILERS!!!

I couldn't fit the Morning rescue guys quite right, and I couldn't move back because there was people around me. This was the best group shot I could produce.

Behind me while taking photos of the Madoka group, Touhou cosplay gathering was taking place. Took a quick shot here.

Yuu from Kore wa zombie desu ka? Translated: Is that a zombie?

Mami and Charlotte.

This bag has personality pinned all over it.

STR and Dead Master from Black Rock Shooter.

I did not go to the Fanimaid Cafe, but got to take a picture of a maid here. The wind had good timing for a "skirt blowing in the wind" look.

Caught a small group of Madoka cosplayers in the lobby of my hotel, got a quick photo of this Homura in front of the fireplace, lighting not good though.

The parents of these children got a picture of me, I always let the little ones hold my (rubber) throwing star for photos.

There was live feed from the crunchyroll.com booth streaming on their website. The comments seen on this live feed are just like the ones on NicoNico Douga.

I couldn't believe that I would see FLOW just around like this. At first I didn't recognize them here, thinking it was a cosplay group doing some FLOW impersonation, but it was actually them. I was so close, I wish I tried talking to them with my broken up Japanese. They are just an amazing band, just one out of many Japanese artists I love to listen to.

I went to the cosplay spectacular aka masquerade back at the Civic Center. It started off with a Hideo concert that I nearly fell asleep to back at AOD.

Then we had the cosplayers. I got bored after a while and I didn't stay for the whole masquerade.

I left the masquerade after the 12th performance of the skits.

I went back to my hotel room to change out of my cosplay. I'm not done for the night just yet, as it's only about 9-ish. Here I'm showing where I slept with the space limitations of the hotel room, under another bed, kind of like a bunk bed of sorts.

I passed by the Fairmount Hotel just to see the Black and White Ball scene. The Black and White Ball is like a formal ball with formal dancing like the waltz, etc. Ballroom dancing. I'm not a dancer so I didn't go in, also I did not have proper attire to get in anyways to take photos.

Cool magic circle thing. From the series Bleach.

Con goers playing some games. Homura and Madoka take a break from their Puella Magi duties to play some Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Con goers food time.

Nice~!
Damn. I couldn't go to Fanime this year. And of COURSE it has to be when one of my favorite Japanese bands come to perform a concert.
Cool! Our interview with FLOW will be out soon!
Whoah... Look at the intensity in the faces of the cosplay photographers.
Share the love!
Mr. T knows how to accessorize for Fanime with some bling bling!
