Hi
Today I got my PSP GO!
I make the unboxing video and ad to my blog.
This is a great console. It is a small, light and convenient.
More photos and video it is it in the my blog: Genshiken-blog

psp go is perfect for those who never owned a psp before. But for those who want to trade in or sell their old psp are screwed because it does not have a umd reader and they have to re-buy their old games.
I disagree. PSP Go is more for those who have no time to carry around a PSP-3000 model and games for it. And with, I believe, The Official PlayStation Magazine stating that Sony is in the process of making a device that may allow UMDs to be downloaded onto a PSP Go... Owners that are switching, and have not already sold their games as well, are all set when that device is made. But until then, they have the option of waiting until their old UMD games are re-sold on the PSN.
And your last comment is a bit offensive on grounds that you sound like those who are trading in are too ignorant or stupid to read up on the PSP Go before making the trade. When, in fact, every fact has been stated and they have been told in advance. Plus, employees in stores that sell it will tell them what they need to know, and the smart ones will convince them to get a PSN cash card.
Actually I heard that they would have to re-buy their old games. No UMD to PSP Go kinda thing T3T
There will be no UMD to GO conversion. Sony has stated they are not doing it at this time due to legal issues. It's up to the developer if they want to re-release the game for download. Some companies are allowing you to trade in UMD games for a credit which you can then use to purchase the downloadable GO version (but the credit is not the full amount and you have to pay extra).
Carrying around UMDs was never a problem for me. PSP-2000(and 3000) has a bigger screen too. The GO is also far more expensive. Why would I pay more to get a smaller screen and machine I cannot use my current games on? Also not all games going forward are going to be downloadable. Sony didn't think this out.
Same here. I am quite content with my Darth Vader PSP.
I had one of the original PSPs before selling it and I've recently just bought a 3000.
I'm not a person with a library of UMD games but I can see that games like God of War that cost as little as $12 (for you Americans, 7.99 for us British) for me now will be released at full price with the PSPGo.
Pay more for the device and also pay more for games because Sony can't think of a method to satisfy the people who have the UMD games. I like saving money...
PSP go seems portable to put in pocket but the battery is new too,16 gb memory fixed, well try to hack it ^|||^
I'm curious, does anyone know what codecs the Go supposedly supports? Because I can actually see myself purchasing one if it's relatively easy to transfer video to, which I think it is...
That's as good as its ever going to look. Soon it'll have fingerprints and smudges. Hows the analog stick?
wow , how much for that psp go in your place?
I have to say its a fail console =\, sure theres no UMD but thats means once you buy a game...thats it, you cant return after finishing, so no resale , and you're hands are set at awkward angles, if they had another nob I would have over looked these things, but I'll stick to my PSP 2000
UMD games for some reason are cheaper then the same game in PSN, weird but true. Sadly ill pass the PSPgo since I'm happily playing with my PSP 2000.
Hmmm... I never realized that the PSP Go was that small until I saw that comparison shot between it, the original PSP, and an iPhone. That's a pretty sexy toy!
I already own the first gen PSP. So the only way I would ever buy a PSP GO is if I don't have to rebuy all my games, IE I can rip my own UMDs from the original, and drop them into my GO somehow. Maybe will have to wait for a firmware hack... :\
Well... According from what I read, Sony is in the process of making such a device. But I think there is another work-around with that as they can just offer a service allowing those who already own the games to put in some kind of product code and either get it for free or at half price.
But the device bit might be better, even though both cases may have people try ripping off Sony.
I am still planning to get the PSP-3000 as I have a thing about owning physical copies of games, etc. But since games like Fate/unlimited codes (they dropped the "Portable") is a PSN exclusive, and I also am considering getting Final Fantasy VII, I may reconsider that plan.
Besides... The PSP Go is primarily for those hip technophiles that have gotten their iPhones 3G on launch day, and later traded it in for a 3Gs on launch day. Plus, with Sony working on ways for people to either transfer their UMDs onto a PSP Go and even buy them on PSN... This may be the way to go. Plus, may become the prefix for the PS4 or PS5.
(Meanwhile... Microsoft will be developing an emergency warning system on the next-gen Xbox. They will have a video footage of a girl exiting a well as well as other video footage. This will mean that the Xbox will suffer a red ring death 7 days later.)
Oh yeah... I forgot to add that if you pug in your PSP Go to your PS3, and then plug in a controller to the PSP Go, you will be able to play PSP games on the PS3.
This is good news for those who purchase Fate/unlimited codes on the PSN (the English version of "Portable" is a PSN exclusive). And it double the good news for those who are unable to play either the PS2 or arcade versions. :3
Enjoy buying your games all over again.
Also, no hack than no go. :p
I live in a country where bandwidth is a b*tch. Download a game would be a slow process. You know 1 Mbps? download fail? Ouch...
I'm waiting to see if Sony holds up their end of the deal, and actually releases the majority of the PSP UMD games online. If not, I think I'm passing.
Not to mention the fact that Sony has offically cancelled their plans for UMD transfer program due to legal problems.
>_< It is really sexy though.
I cancelled my order of PSP Go after learning lots of the real deal about it. In a nutshell, it's not worth the money if you owned/previously owned a psp.
all i can say is
good luck playing monster hunter with that controller
not much of problem if you play other game, but as for monster hunter or tekken/fighting game, good luck
i was given the chance to play this thing and mygod, its good on the hands if youre gonna play games like monster hunter or any fighting games. its awkward and will end up cramping your hands. thank goodness i still got my fat
