Meishi
Meishi (名刺) also known as business card, is an important item to have for business meetings in Japan and also most part of Asia. In recent years, a meishi is not just limited to professionals in a company, it have also extended to hobbyists, cosplayers (known as cos cards) and just about everybody.
It’s interesting to note the various ethics and manners involved in presenting yours and accepting others’ meishi and how you keep them depending on the other party’s rank and status which you can read about here. Thankfully these examples only apply to the Japaneses. Over here in my country, not much rules regarding the exchange of meishi but it is common courtesy to accept a meishi when you are presented one. There was one time, a fellow rejected my meishi which I find to be very rule. I hate him and I do not want to ever see him again.
Anyway price of getting meishi printed over here is pretty affordable. I got 200 cards for only S$24. That’s about USD$19.50. And fast. Got it in 5 days. There are many sites online that offer free meishi printing, which you can easily google and find.
So the next time you see Sasara-chan (or me ^^ ), please feel free to ask for a meishi.

Looks nice, the price isn't too bad for 200 double-sided cards either.
I'm working on new cards myself, my friend who's a graphic designer is helping me do them. Maybe I'll post them when they're done.
Is it going to be double sided as well? If yes what picture do you have in mind at the back? ^^
I think I'm just going to do a blank back on mine, actually. My current cards are double-sided, with a photo on one side and contact on the other, but I think we're just going to go with a graphic and not actually a photo on them, since the number of clients that a specific photo would discourage is greater than those that it would attract, if that makes sense. It's also much cheaper to do them one-sided, obviously.
I see. Looks like things are preferred differently in different parts of the world, how other perceive your card. Over here I would say a striking card, unique from other run-of-the-mill cards will catch the receiver's attention. ^^;
So this will be a business card for work and not a personal one, for hobby?
My card will be very striking, it's just going to be graphics and not a photo this time. I'll dig up a picture of my current cards, which do use photos.
It's sort of in between work and hobby, I guess. These are for my cosplay photography, so it's not a for-profit thing and it's what I do on the side, but it runs somewhat like a business, with "clients" and all that. If I really like the look, I'll probably use a very similar design for my "real" cards, though. I'm also using the design we come up with to redesign my websites and all that, as well.

I had them done at moo.com, which allowed me to use multiple pictures. They look cool, but I'd rather not seem like I'm promoting anybody on them, and as I do more work, the cards get more and more dated compared to what I'm currently doing. Having a graphical card means it never goes out of date or anything.
