being an expectant [DD] father

my first Dollfie-related post!

anyway, i've actually been an "expectant father" trying to raise any money he could muster in order to "sign adoption papers" for his would-be daughter, Kanu, since late February. thanks to Hololo's pics of Kanu, i've been wanting to adopt one of my own, especially since [i think] Kanu's are pretty rare these days. i never thought i'd ever find a Kanu anytime soon.

so imagine my surprise when i logged on one day when i saw this post by fellow user, Akwa. in the post, she mentioned she loved Kanu's company, but was unable to spend much time with her. at the same time, she needed funding for her 1st year university studies. so, she had decided to part with Kanu, in hopes she would find a better owner. it was a steep price for Kanu, 1500 euros (equates to $2000), but i knew if i passed this up, i would probably not find a better deal, let alone another chance at finding another Kanu for adoption.

so what does a full-time webcomic artist with a part-time minimum-wage job at a movie theater with not quite enough money to buy too much at a time do? he goes for it anyway.

as luck would have it, Akwa also agreed to a payment plan which, at $200 a month, is very doable for me. with that, we've been speaking via email every once in a while, updating one another on things concerning the payments. i could have easily just decided to spend the money on other things like an oil change (which my car needs), but i hate knowing there's some figure out there that i want and not having it.

such is the notion of all us collectors.
