Posted by WiseFreeman [www]

While I was accompany my good friend to a bookstore, we spotted something really out of place in the Children Section & couldn't help ourselves but to took these photo:

Mouseover = load notes.
Can You Spot The LOL? #1

Pokemon... Pokemon... Pokemon... Pokemon... Pokemon... Pokemon... Pokemon... Vampire Knight... Pokemon... Pokemon... Pokemon... Pokemon... Pokemon... Wait......... WHAT?!

Mouseover = load notes.
Can You Spot The LOL? #1

Since when did blood & gore fit in kids?

.

.

.
Disclaimer: The bookstore totally have none of any manga or anime related stuff, even the Pokemon books is only sticker book & coloring book, not manga. That is why it's very weird to found VK & Karas hidden among those children-friendly books~

      If they keep thinking that way kids will have quite an epic future ahead *shifty eyes*.
      I do really hope that the clerk notice it.

        It's the reason why Duckman got banned. It was a great animated series, and most certainly not for kids.

    and people wonder why the two following - often contradictory items - are still held as common beliefs:

    - "animated stuff is for kids"
    - "anime is all evil perverted violent stuff"

    go figure, really.

    Since when did blood & gore fit in kids?

    Ever since somebody figured that kids will buy it if they see it?

    Somehow this shows how clueless one can be when viewing the cover and guessing what the content is about and it's not just shop clerks, who mess up. I can point to one regular user here, who got hentai from her dad (I can't remember what it was about, but it disturbed me, which isn't that easy to do), who thought it was a regular anime. I will not say who though. Anyone admitting to have that kind of stuff should say it themselves -_^

    This one time, in the Gameshop..
    There were some Hentai DVD's mingled among the Sailor Moon DVDs and the like. Child-friendly stuff. And a kid asked his mommy if he could see "that" one.
    Me and my friends couldn't hold in our laughter :x

    Hahaha. The person that was showing us around here in Japan said something very similar when we were discussing the topic of Anime. She sort of had the mentality that Anime was for children and didn't quite get why we were so interested in it.

    I guess the sentiment isn't just something that exists outside of the world, but in Japan as well?

      Yup, there was this Japanese businessman who run Japanese karaoke franchise here where I held my cosplay-themed birthday party in his outlet. During our negotiation, he mentioned he never understand anime & cosplay thingy, and he's surprise that this culture is so big outside Japan ^^;
