HGUC Cold districts type GM
Hi everyone! I had this model lying around for some time and wanted to do a diorama with it. Sadly, I lack some resources for now and decided to just build it and do some details on him for now. I'll do the diorama later and will had more features when the time comes.
As for now, enjoy some pictures of the work process and the finished model! Take care all!
-Only panel lines and some paint from Gundam markers was used
-Top coated most parts flat clear and some semi-gloss to keep metallic finish
Overall I'm satisfied with the model. Although it has some flaws (not due to the model itself but my lack of skills...) I will turn it into a diorama and try to fix it and add some details. See you then!

Box art

Very few runners.

First parts I attacked.

Inside of the thrusters painted red.

The head parts assembled and ready for some painting and panel lines.

The head after details.

Trusty gunpla clippers.

Right arm done, getting ready for the left one.

Only 3 parts for the machine gun.

Some parts for the feet.

Leg and feet parts.

Inside of the shield without paint.

Painting for the shield. Still need to clean it up and do some panel lines.

Getting ready to assemble it to check the overall result.

Lower half done.

Getting ready to shoot his own head...

Forgot to add the rear camera for the head, so added it afterwards.

Alright, complete for the first time. Done in a week-end, about 5 hours of work overall.

I liked how the hand for the beam saber turned out, so decided to paint the other hands the same metallic paint. oh, and the beam part of the saber needed some painting too.

Hands before.

Hands after.

Empty runners.

Trying it on a Federation action base stand.

Looking through the shield.

Finished and top coated.

Rear view.

I messed up the head pretty bad by applying too much of top coat. I waited for it to dry and then scrapped the excess and "poured" panel lines, then redone it and re-coated it. It didn't turn out too bad I think.

Ugly nub marks very visible with macro shots. (I sanded them, but not enough it seems...)
Really good job on you trying to add the little details, if I could critic something its the still visible nub marks. Some of the panel lines need a bit of cleanup too.
Thanks for the comment! Yeah, those nub marks are really a bother! I have to find a way to make them disappear without leaving too much scraps from the sand paper. Since the kit wasn't fully painted, I didn't want too much sand paper marks, but ended up leaving too many nub marks...XD Some of the panel lines are really small and perfect for my taste, but others are just way too large. Constructive critics are always welcome! (even more from a fellow "rurouni"!!)
You can use the higher grit sandpapers 600 or 800.. They won't scratch the plastic even if you wanted to.
Lol'd at the wanderer bit..
Congratulations on the details, and used the gundam markers, I liked much of his work, hugs
Thanks!!
