Tokyo: My Respite (Trip Photo's)

Posted by Mstar [www]

Its been about a month since I got back and about two weeks since my computer was fixed but now I'm slowly posting pictures of my trip on my FLICKR photo stream or in Tokyo: My Respite the dedicated set. While I was there I visited the following: Shinjuku, Harajuku, Shibuya, Akihabara, Odaiba, Shiodome, Ikebukuro, Tokyo, Asakusa, and a couple more.

Tokyo is by far my favourite city, it always has been and this trip reassured me of that. There's just so much to do and see in the city that I think the next trip to Tokyo will be significantly longer plus added side trips to other places outside of its neon beauty.

Just to let you guys/gals know here is a list of my top five cities:

1. Tokyo (Didn't I just state this)
2. Toronto (Hometown)
3. Vancouver
4. Dubrovnik, Croatia
5. Firenze (Florence), Italy

The above cities are also one's I have visited, I have a love for travel and as such I have partaken in many trips through: Europe, North/South/Central America, and a little in Asia. Though I have now set my sights on exploring the Asian landscape as it intrigues me even more then Europe still does.

Which city/cities should I visit on a return trip to Japan?

Fuji Sankei Biru!!! A cool place to go on a tour! Was pretty stoked to see the place where they film "Bistro Smap" from "SmapxSmap"!

"Hachiko" crossing to be more precise. You can get off there from many train and metro tracks for convenient and fast travel but you can get there from cars, bikes, buses and if you're close, on foot. Get off from the JR Yamanote line to Shibuya station for quick stop, and of course, enjoy!

THank you for the information. I'll see where it is to where I am staying in Tokyo for 10 days and plan from there.

Here's my recommendation as a fellow traveler:
last year, I spent 3 weeks in Japan, 2 weeks in Tokyo, 1 week in Kyoto/Osaka/Nara. This year I went for 3 weeks again but stayed in Tokyo with day trips to Yokohama and Kamakura. Comparing the two trips, I would say that last years trip has an advantage because as much as I love Tokyo, its good to explore the different parts of Japan. Each one has its own culture and vibe(Kyoto and Osaka are both known to be distinctly different from Tokyo) and you really appreciate Tokyo when you come back from traveling. I would do 3 weeks with the first week in Tokyo, second week in Kyoto/osaka/Nara and back to Tokyo for the 3rd week.
