Looking at getting A DD myself, but not sure which one at the moment, but can you tell me what the price tag UK customs hit you with so I know what I'll have to expect.

        right well
first they charge you VAT which atm is 20% on the items price.
Then there is like a £36 customs charge and then like a £13 handling fee for parcelforce.

When I first got my DD my mum didn't have to pay for customs charges, me thinks it's just pure luck really ^_^

I am just wondering if it's worth holding off and picking a DD while in Japan or taking a Gamble and getting one now.

I hate paying UK custom charges, but that's life, but also got to agree with "jazzles x3", that sometimes it pure luck if you can get away with it.

    Quick question.

Any way to make it so the wig is more secure?
it feels as if its not fully tight on the back.

Just from my experience as a cosplayer - I don't let velcro anywhere near my wigs (human or doll sized).

In the end it just ends up making a tangled mess, no matter how careful I am.
I'd suggest getting a silicone wig cap - they are inexpensive and are awesome. Since Erica's wig is light coloured you don't really have to to worry about staining :)

I on the other hand am VERY careful with my doll wigs as they are not cheap and the silicone caps are awesome but a pain to take off. I am sure Deeathmaw paid a ton for Erika and will be extra careful.

Wig caps, though mostly used to prevent staining from dark wigs, can work well for loose wigs too. It basically makes the head a little fatter and the wig a bit tighter. For me the wig on Fate T. Harlaown would slid off pretty easy, but with a wig/head cap underneath I can flip her upside down and it doesn't come off. You can even make your own very easily if you have access to a sewing machine, its what I have been doing for caps and I barely know how to use a machine.

      And congratulations!

Hmm about how big-thick would i make a cap?
        And what material?

I used a cheap cotton muslin material but any thin while fabric should do.
          quick lesson with a picture:

Top item is a pattern I use made from cardboard. bottom is a finished cap.
step 1:After cutting out a rough pattern(better too big then too small, but exact dimensions are not important for now) turn up the bottom edge and sew it to make a clean edge as show by red line #1, this is optional but makes it less likely to fray later.

step 2:Next fold in half(the bottom edge should face outward) and sew along top edge shown by red line #2, again you want it to be a bit too big at this point. You could also make it out of 2 pieces instead of one if you want.

step 3: put it on your girls head and pinch down the excess, use a pencil to mark then sew again as in red line #3 to create a better fit. Keep in mind its easier to resew if its too big then if its too small. Cut off excess fabric and then turn inside out.

          Finished product on DD Kiriha:

I saw your previous posts regarding DD Saber. If you are still saving up for one and want to buy her off Yahoo Japan, I would highly recommend bid service japan. The man who runs it charges 10% commission on any item over 150,000 yen, which I am sure Saber will be. All you need to do is use your paypal account and send a 20% deposit of the max amount you want to bid. You don't have to have a credit card on file or any of that bull crap that other sites make you do. Everything goes through paypal which is awesome and much more secure. If you don't win the auction you are refunded the deposit. Communication is great with this guy, so easy to use.

    Here is the link:
