Oak Creek Adventure
Sun 2011/07/03 11:09 JST
Agatha and I went up to Oak Creek Canyon earlier this week, in northern Arizona. Bet some of you didn't know that Arizona had actual trees in addition to cactus. =P
No real story this time; I just took some pictures of Agatha as she explored the creek.

After this shot, Agatha's glasses fell into the creek. ^^; I was able to retrieve them, but we agreed to put them away rather than risk them ending up in deeper water or getting entrenched in blackberry brambles.

Cooling toesies! ^_^
Raw materials spotted!
Haha! Agatha totally agrees. She was terribly miffed that I refused to try to contact the owners, despite her insisting that it's just "begging for a Spark mod job."
By the time she got through with it, it would be like one of those "Unlimited" numbers you see in Tractor Pulls... ^_^
Now where did I leave my tools?

Thanks!
Never been there exactly but I have been to Sedona!
Looks like a nice day for pics and what lovely pics they are...but it's so hot lately! The power was out for 3 hours and Rei was complaining the whole time haha
Oak Creek is *really* close to Sedona, maybe 20 minutes away tops. The only downside to getting there is the switchbacks on the road, though the really unnerving ones are on the Flagstaff side.
Thank you! It was actually quite pleasant in the canyon; I think it's because it only gets direct sun for a fraction of the day. Bummer about the power going out. That must have sucked!
nice pics! Agatha looks like a brainy victorian lass in search of her next project. Love the dress and boots combination!
Thank you! Especially on the boots; took me almost a year to find the right shoes for her. XD
Great pictures. Looks like you had fun.
Thank you! We certainly did have fun.
Terrain like that does exist in AZ, but it's definitely not typical. XD
Nice photos, and I really like that dress.
It's true that lush areas like that aren't "typical" AZ, but you can find little oases like this if you know where to find them. Oak Creek, Lynx Lake, and Walnut Canyon come immediately to mind. I'm sure there's others that I haven't even been to, too.
Thank you! The dress needed some tweaks to look its best, but I'm pretty happy with it. :)
I have more active friends who go to the various scenic places in AZ, but I haven't personally. The ones you listed are all around Flagstaff right, or between Flag and Phoenix?
Walnut Canyon's pretty close to Flag, and Oak Creek Canyon sits right between Sedona and Flagstaff. Lynx Lake is very close to Prescott, however, which is definitely a shorter drive from Phoenix than Sedona or Flag.
That scenery fits her look perfectly, nice!
Haha, I know! How many DDs would have something period-appropriate to a covered wagon? XD Thanks!
Nice to see something green besides cactus and paloverde trees!! An awesome spot for pics, Agathas dress looks great with the background.
Aw, thanks! Oak Creek is great for photos; I actually took a bunch of Agatha-less nature shots in addition to all of these.
BTW, getting close to completing Aebelskiver. Have to do her eyes, and second tailfin, but then I can sew up the last pieces and stuff her.
Like this pic! :)
Thank you! Definitely one of my faves from this shoot.
This is a really nice picture! She looks so relaxed.
Thanks! I am fond of how antique it ended up feeling.
These boots are awesome! Perfect Victorian flair to them.
I love those boots. :) They make me glad I spent almost a year hunting for the right shoes for her. XD
Wow! A whole year? No wonder she gives you so much lip... making her wait a year for some shoes! =3
Lol! Yeah, but they're the *perfect* shoes. They'll go with just about everything Agatha-y. :)
Well, that's worth the wait if they go well with everything. Versatility is always good. =3
Ha ha! There's the attitude I'm used to seeing! =3
Yay! We finally get to see some Agatha shots! And the green dress woked out so well.... she seems to like it!
Great pics you took. It was a nice setting for her. Some of the older things there went well with her style.
Thank you! Yeah, Agatha digs that dress, though it has made me realize how badly she needs a lab coat. XD Yet another thing to go on the "to make" list--like I needed that. =P Still, that dress went wonderfully with that covered wagon.
She looks so different yet so cute! Her large glasses makes her look soooo adorable! I don't know why but she reminds me of thumbelina ^^
And her lips are so lovely <3
Heh, thank you!
I knew Arizona had trees. i go through there quite a bit delivering freight in California. Nice photos. Maybe next time im up there by Flagstaff ill see if i can stop and take some photos up there with my Aoi-chan!
Heh, I was mostly joking. XD But yeah, you should totally stop in the canyon for photos! It's really a photogenic spot. Just make sure you bring a stand--don't want a strong breeze knocking your girl into the creek.
Amazing photos and girl!^^
Thank you very much!
She's so breathtaking! I can't wait for my little steampunk girl (:
Oh, thank you! You're getting your own steampunk DD? :D Who you getting?
A dollfie dream called Akemi, steampunk and gothic clothes are what I wear IRL XDD but with any luck, I found some really cool eyes that had cogs in them, so I'll be using a Dream Of Doll E-an! XD
Great photos! The shots by the stream look so cool & refreshing^^
Oh, thank you! ^_^
