Anime Expo 2011 - Day 2
Day 2 at AX 2011

Production IG panel.

And of course, more cosplay.

The weekend feels more crowded than the weekday.

This is the Inside the Voice Actors Studio. The panel shows how they produce a dub for anime. A couple audience members where chosen to try doing a dub. Here, one of the audience members is doing a dub for Mio from K-ON!

I also got the chance to see Kalafina and Hatsune Miku (Mikunopolis).

The is the outside line for Mikunopolis. Not surprised to see a long lines anymore :P

Here is the inside. A fair number of the audience were waving glow sticks. Plus, there are two giant monitors for you too view what's on stage in case you're too far away or the person siting in front of you is tall. Both these issues happened with me. Fortunately, the "tall person in front of you" issue was only temporary as he moved one seat over. Of course, that's sort of unfortunate for the person sitting next to me :P
You're probably wondering why the last two photos aren't that great. These were taken with my phone and not my camera. Allow me to explain.
When I went to see Kalafina at Club Nokia, they said no cameras were allowed to be in your possession, PERIOD. That meant I had to walk all the way to my car, drop off my camera, and walk back to Club Nokia. And in the process, I ended up missing a good chunk of Kalafina. By the way, Kalafina was awesome.
When it was time to see Mikunopolis, I figured that Nokia Theater would have the same rule as Club Nokia. As far as I can tell, they didn't. You can have a camera in your possession, as long as you don't take any footage during the concert.
Mikunopolis was superb. Because it was really loud, my hearing felt numb for a bit :P
The concert was truly like this:
So awesome!

hmm it seems another is missing for a vs match, other than that Deadpool may seem out of place if no one is familiar with the MvC games
Haha that's me and my boyfriend. Any way I can have a copy of this image?
Sure. Let me know how I can send it to you. The file is a little over 6 MB.
Would love to see Kalafina in concert one day. ^^
Kalafina was great. I wish I didn't miss part of it.
He even got it right down to the beard
no shit, a real one
This is the first time I've seen a Porco Rosso cosplay and this guy nails it.
Sorry to hear about you missing part of Kalafina. I assumed the same thing about Miku too and I was surprised to see peeps w/ cameras. I only ended up seeing Miku because I paid the 40 at-con price so I didn't want too spend too much.
I guess this is the lesson that I need to keep for next time :P
That picture of the the FREEing Haruhi bunnygirl figures...Was that a booth that just had them on display, or did those placards say that they were going to be re-released? Any memories of that would be appreciated, as I'd love if they did another run of them. Could be too high a hope though.
Nah, they were just on display. They also had several other rare and expensive figures at that booth, most notably Bounty Hunter Yoko by Alter.
Ah, thanks!
Nice second day :)
It was nice.
Comes with beard! XDc
Soooo.... was the Miku show exactly the same as the Giving Day concert? Did they add any new stuffz?
I don't know. I never saw Giving Day concert. This is my first live Miku concert.
I wouldn't call it exactly the same since a smaller screen was used and the quality of the models weren't as up to par as those of the 2009 concert. Less songs were also performed, but I heard that new songs were played at this one (I wouldn't notice it since I've seen only a few clips of the 2009 concert.). Nonetheless, I felt it was an excellent concert for an American debut and was so worth the at-con price of $40.
