My First Figma - A Video Review

Posted by brownkidd [www]

I'd been covering designer vinyl toys on a web series called blindboxed tv for my blog ALBOTAS.com, but I've always been into collecting anime figures as well. I recently purchased my first Figma, Kanu Unchou, and it's kind of a big deal for me. I'd always been turned off by articulated figures, but I've recently fallen madly in love with Figmas and Revoltechs, althought I kind of hated them in the past Weird, because the first time I ever saw a Figma, I thought it was the grossest looking thing ever. Now I'm madly in love!

Right after I finished filming, I accidentally broke the base. Where can I get a replacement?

Welcome to the world of figmas! ^^. Shame her base broke, perhaps superglue can fix it? If not you might want to try contacting Good smile company and ask if they can send you a new base.

I'll try and pick up some superglue this weekend. Will Good Smile Co. really send me a new base if I ask? That'd be excellent!

      Thanks for the advice!

Oh, and I'm super addicted now. I just ordered Ryomou Shimei and she should be here next week some time. Can't wait!

If you're planning on getting more figmas anyway, I might recommend getting a di:stage. While having an extra stand-arm would be useful, the di:stage's included arm is much stiffer and has a bit larger peg for holding those stubborn figmas like Nanoha with a big peg hole in place even without the included claw. Plus there are papercrafts of scenes you can download from the figma website to use with the stage as well. Though I'm pretty sure MAX will send you a replacement stand-arm if you shoot them an email. Good luck!

I'd REALLY wanted to get either Hatsune Miku or haruhi Suzamiya, but I couldn't find any there. I had to decide between the Kanu Figma, a Revoltech of Haruhi in her bunny costume, or a Ryomou Figma. Such a hard choice! But I'm pleased with what I picked. I'll probably get Hakufu Sansaku and a ds:stage next so that I can make an epic battle ^_______^

I was considering to get kanu unchou as my first one, but then my parents are probably gonna get the wrong impressions about me...X]
So I've decided to get Hayate Yagami as my first one since she looks very nice.

Good call. Luckily, I live with my girlfriend and she's well aware that I'm a perv. She even likes some of the pervy toys too! I just feel weird having ecchi figures on display in our living room when she has 3 kids running around hahah. They're used to it, though, but I'm not sure that's a good thing...

Not bad! Not a huge fan of Ikkitousen, so I didn't get Kanu. (^.^)
