Anime Expo 2011 Loot
This year I spent way more money than I have in the past, but it's all good since it's ANIME EXPO and I've been waiting for a whole year. Didn't buy any figures because I already have too many preordered every month so I had to stop myself.
I was able to get lots of cool free goods from places like Niconico, Aniplex/Bandai, NIS. Thank you all for the nice posters and stuff!
I also enjoyed Expo alot more this year because of KALAFINA. Been waiting for them to come since they were announced for Boston in 2009 but was finally able to see them this year in concert! Most of my time was spent just getting autographs actually. Was able to go in their autograph line 3 times in 3 days.
Also was able to get a Miyuki Sawashiro autograph since I bought the Arakawa boxset (which is totally worth it fyi). It includes the entire first season, 2 bds, 2 dvds (for those that don't have a bd player like me), and an artbook (which I had Sawashiro-san sign). The dvds and bds also include seiyuu commentary (which was awesome since it was subbed!)
I was also able to catch Danny and get an autograph from him.
I know I know. BRS isn't well endowed and is DFC, but I couldn't help it, it was just too squishy!
I also bought manga for $3 what a steal!
The Supercell album was awesome. The funny thing was that the worker didn't know too much about them so he had to ask me what it actually was. The girl next to me replied that it was "Miku". Unfortunately she was quite wrong.
The Steins Gate novel is going to help me with my practice of reading Japanese this summer. Working on tons and tons of Kanji. The thing is, I bought the book at Kinokuniya and they were giving away free STEINS GATE posters as long as you bought anything Steins Gate, so there I was.
I also bought 2 shirts! One of Luka and one Kalafina Magia concert tshirt. I purchased that the first day since I was afraid that they were going to run out of sizes and I bought the Kalafina photobook on the last day. I thought I had enough Kalafina goods at home for them to sign but I didn't expect them to do at least 3 autograph signings on three different days. Eventually by Day 4 almost all the Kalafina goods were SOLD OUT. How disappointed I was to find the Magia singles all gone.
I also purchased a MIKUNOPOLIS Uchiwa. Too bad that I didn't go to the concert though. But it was on sale for $5 so I bought it. :D
I wasn't able to win an autograph ticket so I had to be in the stand-by line most of the time. The first one I got was the little slip of one on the first day. Then on Day 3 they gave away a post-it. On the last day, it was open autographs so we didn't need any numbers.
The ticket for the concert was interesting. They put a row and seat number, but since it was free standing it was first come first serve. So basically I waited at around 2:30 for a concert that starts at 5:00Pm. But all is well since I got to stand the closest to the stage!
This year I spent over 1.5 hours in the artist alley so I bought a lot of art and had lots of people asking me where I got the Reimu from. She is definitely a beauty. I also really liked the Character portraits as well as the Ao no Exorcist artwork. haha.
Can you guys name all the characters?
do you by any chance know the name of the artist of the black rock shooter and ao no exorcist picture cause i have seen a couple of other people with it and i REALLY REALLY want it!!!! XD also love the other loot all very awesome!!

It says "JUBY" so I looked on deviantart. I'm not really sure who it was since three or four of the deviantartists were sharing the same couple of booths together. Sorry I can't be that much help. >.<

Wow that's amazing how you got 3 items signed in 3 days. I won an autograph ticket for Friday while my friends got theirs on Sunday.
Just curious when did they have the open autograph day? Never heard about this! =[
They had open autographs on the last day (Monday). This is a event open to all attendees, but the artists themselves choose whether or not they want to participate and when they want to leave.
Yup. Basically ax 2011 was line/autograph con 2011. All the days I was there I was off chasing autographs. hehe.
Ahhh wow... wished I knew.. my friends and I would of got our other goodies signed too! =( I saw that them walking around the dealers hall and signed that large Madoka poster at one of large booths on Monday also. Was surprised to see them there! >.<
Haha. They probably sold it later for auction. I wish I would be able to take that Madoka poster home.

Yeah haha. I spent at least an hour to two hours every day in line just waiting for autographs. It was pretty satisfying to see them face to face and talk to them though. :D
Nice loot. Would have really liked to get that new Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya poster.
They were giving it out at the Bandai booth. Most likely they will be giving it out next year too so don't worry too much about it. (They have been giving out the Girl who leapt through time poster since 2008!) So there is always a chance.

Nice loot, sadly I missed some good artwork due to too much lining up ^^;; I really enjoyed Kalafina concert, was in the front part so I was really near them X3. Also talked with some cool people before the concert, sadly we got separated after the concert and missed my chance to ask their contact information orz
