How has your desire to purchase change from last year?

A month ago , i wondering about everyone wish list this year.
because , when i make a list , i think i can make a long list of what i want~~~
but recently i just found an interesting website which makes a polling about how has your desire to purchase change from last year ? and the result is 43 % ( majority) from 14.139 lowered their desire to purchase this year.
at the moment i saw the diagram , i just thought that “how come?”
i have a long wish list right now and majority in the world lowered their desire to purchase??? . i think if i make top 5 of what i want . i think it will be:
* Flash gun nikon
* Macro lens
* Figure for photography
* tele lens
* PC
what about you ? are there anything you want to buy right now?
figure? lens? or anything ?

I'd say my desire to purchase has gone down considerably. Not because of lack of money or motivation, but because I am caught up on almost all the figures I was looking for.
1.) Yami-chan eating Taikyaki Figure by Alpha Omega
2.) Remilia Regular Version by I-con/Griffon
3.) Saber/Haruhi Dollfie Dream Outfits
That's all I'm keeping a look out for at the moment. Have 3 preorders out at the moment for Kuro-chan Nendoroid, and 2 Nanoha the Movie Figmas but other then that. Not much out there that I want....Maybe the Marisa Nendoroid when it comes out but that's all I can think of at the moment.
My desire to purchase has risen. A lot. Now, I'm trying to save money. Still waiting for 1/35 scale GFF Rx 78-2, and Metal Composite Unicorn. I have a few figures I want, have the cash, but have decided to save money because of my recent spending sprees. I've spent around 4x more than I normally do in the past month I think.
My desire to get stuff is up. My desire to pay for it... not as much. When ur a college student, or rather, anyone who doesn't live under parents, money becomes a much more personal issue. Sure there are things I want, plenty, but knowing how to keep yourself from buying things on impulse is what's gonna get us through.
As much as I love figures, I do realize that they really don't do a thing for me. They're just pretty to look at.
It'd prolly be...
Nikon D80 / D70 / D90 + AF-S 18-70mm Nikkor and AF 50mm f/1.8
1.5TB HDD For Deskie (Replacement for 500GB)
CM MODULAR 520W PSU
3Com Gigabit Switch (8 Port)
24" DELL 2410
For Computer Department '~'
Figure Related, I'd say it will be either the Nanoha Battle A's Lyrical Box set or a Nanoha Azone 1/6 Doll =/
Wonder how long will i need to save up for these!
Well my desire to buy certain items figures, lenses, DVD's is the same as always but I'm trying to be more careful and considerate with the current economic climate as you never know.
there's always things to buy but not everyone is loaded with spare cash to spend on stuff ya ?
i want a lot of figures, a dslr, a dollfie or two, and a car, but dont want to spend the money for it. by and by costs are increasing every month and spending on figures wasn't helping me one bit.
so i actually stopped spending on these stuff and am investing money so i can atleast have something in hand.
spending money on non essential stuff is on lowest priority for me now.
On a normal day I guess I'm like Scrooge McDuck. I stockpile money whenever I can. This allows me to pay in cash whenever there is something I want. It's all about discipline and consider what you really want because you can't get everything. This approach means my amount of loot is unaffected by the global economy... sort of. It exploits when people have no money and prices drops ^^
Stuff I plan to buy at the moment... well my computer is around 4 years without any upgrades (besides adding HD space). I plan not to use it as the primary one when it's 5 years old. I will however not buy one right now as I will wait and see what USB 3 brings next year since knowing myself I will be stuck with the next computer just as long as this one (or longer) so it has to be the right one.
wow , you can make a pond of money if you always stockpile your money whenever you can ^^
i think i will buy pc next year too , i want to try usb 3.0
it is definitely faster O.o
USB3.0 is on paper superfast, but it's kinda useless when current electronics don't support it. (read everything what's on the market right now)
I agree. However if I'm going to buy a computer, which will last the next 5 years, then I want one with a fast interface to USB 3. Adding a card later on is not always a good solution. My first ethernet card (10 Mbit) was connected to a bus designed for modems and similar and as a result I could only use like 1 Mbit (still much better than 56k though). I don't want to end up the same way with USB 3.
Also I want to see some product testing. Currently I connect external HDs though firewire 400 (I lack firewire 800). The reason is that the protocol makes performance on the 400 Mbit firewire faster than on the 480 Mbit USB2. I want to see some real life testing on USB 3 vs firewire and I want to know what the price will be.
Sounds interesting... too bad that's not how it works. It takes two things to get that kind of money: stockpiling and high income. If only one is present, then it's no good :P
Ever since I picked up an PS3, It's hard to balance my desires for games and figus but after spending some time thinking, I still decided that figus will be prioritize before games.
Next thing I would need is a decent camera. Probably will talk with my family to see if we can get it as a family-shared cam...
My purchasing has changed considerably. Last year there we're many things I wanted to buy like figures, manga's, clothes, limited volks clothing sets for my dolls and such. So far latley though there hasn't been much I've been interested in.
I'm loosing weight, so I don't want to re vamp my whole wardrobe anymore, becaus it won't fit for long so it will be a waste of money. Also I haven't seen any 'Must have!' figures for a while, accept the ones I have on pre order (which is only 2). There haven't been any dolls released that I love and want since January (Moe and ddoh 04 have changed this now though.)
One of the reasons I've decided to buy my first dslr now, is because I don't have much else that I really want to buy, so it seems like an ideal time to buy it.
It's ok not to spend money even if you have some. You make it sound like it's some socialistic budget. If you only use 80% of your budget, then you will only get 80% next year because clearly that's enough. Decent idea except it makes people spend money on useless stuff in order not to get budget cuts next year.
There are many many things I want, but my desire to purchase... to buy for myself or just to actually own something.... has definitely lowered. Knowing I can't afford everything I want, I've started looking at things I like for a while and trying to decide if I REALLY want it or would REALLY enjoy it... it cuts down on my wishlist considerably.
My desire has gone down due to economy issues; I used to buy not only figures, but magazines, mangas (imported too), DVDs, books, videogames and doujinshi. Now I'm lucky if I buy one or two mangas, a little handful of figures and I don't buy doujinshi like crazy as before. DVDs, magazines, books (as in literature ones), imported mangas, videogames... all these have not been purchased for a long, long time.
On one side is alright I guess, since it allowed me to manage my money and space a little better (not that I make a lot of money anyways) and I only get stuff if I want it really really bad. On another there are a lot of items that I wanted something bad, but didn't purchase and now I can't get them anywhere. Makes me wonder if I should just buy them and be a little poorer at that moment instead of paying thrice the price to a dubious ebay seller later.
Main things which I would like to buy are more anime DVDs, and another Mac, most likely an eMac. I would also like to get my hands on Kotobukiya's Aizawa Tomomi from Pia Carrot 3, but that's about it right now.
Well, it's a little complicated because this year I've spent very less compared with the past one.
Most of my money goes to videogames and music stuff, then, for figures and technology but for us, I mean people who lives in south-America is very expensive to buy overseas so, we need to think carefully if we don't want to get broke (but I'm so close lately^^).
Seems like I've spent a lot more than last year , since I started it again last december. Still wanting those Hot Toys Men Suit for making Tony stark and Macro lens for shooting figure.
I think this is very closely related to how people now can download almost anything off the web, legally or otherwise, vs. the increased price of goods. They must be thinking, Why buy DVDs, CDs, software, games, etc when you can have it for free? Just reserve money for stuff that can't be downloaded, like figures :D
The desire to purchase things is still stong... however since the financial crisis my self control has heightened considerably :P
