help please

i finally got my mirai figma yesterday and whilst postioning her i find out she has a VERY loose hip joint ... the reason i say it is ver loose is because
A: her hips came off very easily
B: to do this to any other figma would take alot more force than applied to her

i was wondering if anyone here had any idea on how i can remedy this problem... please help

super glue the joint really lightly. and then constantly move it around till it gets stiff. don't let it stay in a single position or your figma's screwed over.

clear nail polish work too apparently

If I extrapolate from my experience, my belief is that loose hips on Figmas are likely not defects at all. I think your Figma is probably fine. I don't have a Figma with me on hand, but from my fuzzy memory I would guess that what may be happening is that the wishbone piece in the pelvis of your Figma is not centered and you need to center it. Are both hips loose? Or is it just one? If it is just loose on one side, then that is the side the wishbone is leaning towards. After you reattach the leg, you need to manipulate the wishbone with this leg so that the wishbone shifts closer to the other hip.

I think it may also be possible that the socket joint in the upper thigh is rotated too anterior or too posterior or maybe even towards the crotch. You need to use the ball joint on the pelvic wishbone to rotate the socket piece into a more stable position. If the socket piece is stuck, then dip the thigh into a glass bowl of scalding water for a minute and then reattach the leg to the pelvis.

I hope I made sense and that this solves your problem.
    :)

Take a look at both hip socket joints on both legs. My guess would be that the two socket pieces are not nestled in the same way on your Figma. :)

When I think about it, Figma hip joints are more likley to remain true to parameters through the manufacturing process than other parts of the Figma and I think are unlikely to be faulty.

i think you have teh problem i have all wrong i am on about the part of the hips that goes into the torso not the legs... but i may have read it wrong it is a lil confusing :p

The joints are all joined by the wishbone. If the socket joint in one thigh looks like it is bowing to the crotch, then this socket will pull the ball on the wishbone towards this side. The leg on the other side will simultaneously get pulled into the pelvis. The former hip joint will become unstable. The latter hip joint will remain stable.

Check to see whether the socket pieces are positioned in the same way in each thigh. :)

Or maybe it's the other way around. I forget. :p

Anyway, I hope you get the matter settled. :)

By "bowing to the crotch," what I mean is this. Isolated from any other pieces, the socket joint can swing the wishbone piece 90 degrees. This is because it has a smooth channel each upward and outward to accomodate the horizontal part of the wishbone that holds the ball part of the joint. What you should check is whether the channel upward on the socket piece is actually open straight up, perpendicular to the floor. If this channel is not pointing straight up, then you might end up with an unstable hip, depending on other factors. That's what I'm trying to say. If this is the case, then you would want to use the ball joint while reattaching the leg to rotate the socket piece into a position that would be more stable for the hip.

            :)

              Nevermind, I just got home and checked my Figmas. You are right, I don't recall which hip joint I am thinking of at the moment. sorry. ^^;

Mine is like that too, lol. My second biggest complaint about this figma. Biggest complaint is that it's too easy to accidentally knock the hair and face pieces off(almost lost them once).

Sticky tack works wonders for me. Allows for possibility and you can remove it easily.

Just put a small piece of paper in the socket, then pop the joint in. The same goes for the face piece, no chemicals or residue that will affect the plastic.

Mine broke the frist 2 mins the head had a white spot not just that.. I was fixing the feet position it broke and I wasn't rough I have eight other figmas this never happened before :/. and the funny thing each one have some odd annoying painting defect of some sort or face shape defect most of my figmas from hlj, hobbysearch ,otacute, and plamoya. I spent on brs figma 100$ only to find huge black crack on the white line on her shoulder. Bought 7 other 1/8 pvc's 0 defect 0 problems and the are poses more beautiful. Also I dont think its a good idea to put any sort of glue on a ball jointed the way this will work if you apply a crazy amount of pressure... hips on figmas are ment to move side to side a bit front a and back having it 1 position sucks so apply strong pressure I doubt it will break :/.

you need to do some thickening. apply some clear nail polish on the ball joint and let it dry. then, pop it back into place to see if it worked. if it feels too loose, apply some more nail polish. if it is too stiff or you cant pop it back into place, sand it down by a tiny bit.
