Yukino's Stain Treatment
As most of you recall, I just adopted a fine little Yukino a few weeks ago. She's so adorable and sweet! But she did have some minor staining issues that I wanted to fix for her so she feels better. I also noticed her "hidden" arm joints had not been activated yet so I did that too.
So for anyone who is unsure about how to do the hidden arm joints or stain treatments, please follow along as Yukino gets all fixed up! =3
So Yukino, are you ready to start your stain treatments?
"I think so Papa. Yoko said they sting a little but it wouldn't be too bad overall."
Well, she had much darker stains than you do so she had to do more treatments over a longer period. Your's shouldn't last as long if we're lucky.
"Alright then, I'm sure it'll be ok."
So Yukino, I notice you don't have your "hidden" arm joints activated.
"My what?"
Hold out your arms for me dear.
"Like this?"
Yes, perfect.
Now, bring them up as close as you can to your face for me.
"Ok..... this is as far as I can go."
Alright, let's fix that so you can actually touch your face.
"You can do that for me?"
Sure I can! =3
We'll be using this... a heat gun.
"Oooo! Pretty!"
Now hold out your arm. I need to warm it up some so the vinyl will be stretchy enuff for the joint to pop out.
"Will this hurt?"
No no. I use the lowest setting on this so as not to make your arm too hot. You'll be fine Yukino.
"Alright."
See, that didn't take long at all! If I had a hairdryer, I could have done this easily too. All we had to do after your arm got warm was pull on your forearm and wiggle it up and down, then TAH DAH! Your hidden joint pops out!
"Ohh! I can touch my face now! Wow! That's so cool Papa!"
"Thanks Papa! I never knew I could do this!"
You're welcome my dear. Now we need to start stain treatments. I need you to take off your skirt so I can get to the stains on your legs.
"Ok, I'm ready now."
I'll be using this lamp to speed up the process. It has a full spectrum bulb in it that mimics the sun so you get the same effect as sitting in sunlight.
First tho, lets use this Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to clean off your legs. These are great for surface dirt and stuff.
Now you're all ready to go for the treatments.
"Alright, let's do this Papa!"

This is what we'll use on you. Oxy10 is the easiest stuff to get around here but you can use ANYTHING that has 10% Benzoyl Peroxide in it. This size tube cost me six bucks.
Now you just put a dab on your finger and apply it to the affected areas.
Cover everything you see that's stained with a THICK layer of this stuff so it will soak in well.
She had some very light stains on her lower legs here so I hit them with the Oxy10 too.
Ok Yukino, time to take off your wig so we can treat those too.
"Do I have to?"
Yes. If you want all the stains gone you do.
"Okay...."
These are pretty light so they should go away pretty quickly.
Mai - "Hey Yukino! How are you doing? We dropped by to see how things were going for your first treatment."
Yukino - "Oh! I'm doing ok so far, we just started actually."
Manami - "Well if you need anything, just tell us ok? We'll be right around here so don't hesitate to call us if you want something to drink or a snack, ok?"
Yukino - "Thanks Oneesan! You're so nice!"
Mamimi - "Hey Yukino! Are you ok so far?"
Miyuki - "Yeah! Are you doing alright? We dropped by to check on you!"
Yukino - "Awww! Yall are so nice to come see me!"
Mamimi - "And look! We brought Tic Tac Toe! You can play with us!"
Miyuki - "Yeah! I will play for you Yukino! You just tell me where to put the marker and I'll do it!"
"My sisters are so nice to me! You girls make me so happy!"
R - "Hello Yukino. I hope you are doing well."
Y - "Hello Rei! I'm doing ok. It stings a little bit but not as bad as I thought it might."
R - "That is good to hear."
Y - "Mamimi and Miyuki have been playing with me too to help pass the time. They're being so very nice!"
Miyuki - "Hi Rei! Wanna play too?"
R - "Ah, I see. Very nice of you two to do for Yukino."
Y - "So Rei, what's up? Did you need something?"
R - "Well..... I ..... ah.... you see....."
Y - "Yes?"

R - "I just wanted to tell you that we are all wanting you to recover from your stains quickly Yukino. Yoko had such a hard time with her treatments and we did not want you to feel like we did not care about you."

Y - "Thank you so much Rei! I know you girls really like me now. I've never had such great family before! I really appreciate you all coming to see me!"
R - "You are most welcome Yukino. I know it is sometimes hard to be the new girl."
Me - Aww! You two are so cute together!
Y - "Thanks Papa!"
R - "Thank you Papa. Now go fetch Yukino something to drink, this warm light you have on her is surely making her thirsty."
Yes dear, right away.....
So cute! I hope the treatment goes well. Tell Yukino we are all sending her healing vibes.
I really should "activate" the hidden joints on my girls. I just find that it looks a bit odd when in a non-arm-bent position.

You can easily push the joints back in so they dont look so odd all the time. As long as you don't push them ALL the way back in, they look just fine. All my girls have this done on them so it's not noticeable until you make them pose a certain way. Give it a shot, you'll be glad you did.
You got a Yukino? How did I miss THAT? D: Well, belated congrats then, now you've got all four standard DD heads represented, and Agatha greets her "mold sister". :)
Cute story, by the way! So nice of Miyuki and Mamimi to help keep the procedure from being too boring. I'll see if I can get Pancake to hang with Agatha when I treat the stains the lining on her boots gave her ankles. XD

Yeah, it's a bummer but I was kind of expecting it. After I treat the stains this weekend, I'll probably be making her some little socks out of an old t-shirt to prevent a relapse.

Yeah, socks should help her out nicely. And will keep her from trying to zap you with certain rays of non-living while you sleep.
Yup! In fact, I think Teh Kitteh should be her nickname from here on out. =P

I dunno what I was thinking when I typed that out for a death ray.... I think I was tired and that leads to goofy lines being typed. Or it may have been the lack of sugar since the girls ate all the sweets in the house. XD

My newly arrived Neris has a small stain near her chin area at the neck joint. Too small to see unless you look for it, though. I will need to get rid of that one day. Maybe she was used for a short time by her previous owner and not "new" as stated in the auction.

I've never tried to take a stain off the face before but I suppose it's just like any other area of the head. If it's not bugging you and you can't see it well, maybe it's best to leave it alone.... I dunno. That sucks the seller lied about it tho, unless it was like that from Volks.
It's not really on her face, but more like underneath her chin where the neck connects to her head. From the looks of her default outfit, the dark collar must have come into contact with that area for a while, assuming that this was what she had on originally. I can't see how it could be from Volks. That area is very for staining unless of a high collar contact (shrugs).

Yumiko Natsume is going to undergo a much drastic reconstruction: she's getting new arm vinyl and a new (still M bust) chest. Unfortunately, there was an attempt to seal her parts, and she has had shiny patches that are really unable to be removed without resort to drastic action.
Z also is getting some fixes: he's in need of hip joint replacement on both his legs so he can sit without slumping backward.
I have all the parts I need for this...now I'm just working up the nerve and figuring out when I can get the time to do it.
I need to give Namiko this treatment...she got stains on her legs from being on a blanket for five minutes. They are light pink stains at least, so it's not so bad.
I hope it goes well for ya. I had a light pink stain on my Aoi and it still wont come out >.<
At least in Namiko's case it just looks like healed-up road rash...something that would be not out of character for our little skating, surfing tomboy. Oddly enough the worst kind of stains on vinyl are reds, not blacks.

What happened to poor Harley that you'd have to replace her whole body? That sounds pretty bad....
I was having a lot of difficulty removing her bust and ended up snapping her "spine" in two. I've been trying to repair it, but so far, I've just wound an elastic band between the two parts to keep it together. Hopefully I can find some product that's excellent for repairing plastic. (V.V) Altho it would have been much better if Volks sold the internal parts separately...
Ah! This happened to Manami as well! If you mean the two parts that come up from the lower body to form a cylinder that slides into the top of the torso then I have a fix for you that works! That is, *IF* you still have the two pieces that broke off....
Permatex makes a plastic epoxy bond that is a permanent "weld" for plastic parts. It comes on a blister card and is n a black tube. All I had to do was buy the stuff at my local Auto Parts store and then follow the directions on the package. I mixed the two parts of the epoxy together, put LOTS of it on the two parts that broke and stuck them back where they broke off. After holding them in place for about 5 mintues, you can let go and then add more of the epoxy to the outside of the place you just joined back to solidify the area. I then waited 5 or 6 hours for the epoxy to cure before putting Manami back together. And she is just fine now! I also made sure to sand the inside of the tube in the torso and the cylinder that slides into it so that it slides more smoothly.

I had this same issue with Tamaki! It's from an adhesive strip that is used to hold the wig in place. I was able to get it off completely though!
I was owndering why it was stained so oddly! Thanks for telling me what caused this. It seems to have lightened considerably after 2 treatments, I think with 2 or 3 more it will be gone completely.

Eep! Just be careful not to get the Oxy10 on her hard plastic joints, as it'll darken them considerably. :(

A question: About how long does it take for the stains to go away using this method?
That all depends on how deep and dark the stains are. I had some light ones come off Yoko within 2 treatments. Other dark ones she had took well over 6 tries. I always do a treatment as about 6-8 hours. And I like to be at home when they are going on just in case.
These pictures remind me of all my stain removal efforts as well. Not always happy times...

Yes, stain removal isn't fun for the ones involved so that's why Yukino's new sisters made sure to let her know she wasn't alone in her treatments. I think after 3-4 more tries, she'll be good to go. =3

So cute!! Im glad shes getting along with the others. I had to do a treatment on Aoi a month ago. I got all the stains gone except for one on her knee. its a light pink stain which i have no idea were it came from.

It's good you got most of Aoi's stains off. Odd you couldnt get that one pink one tho.
Yea i know. Although it wont come out it doesnt really bother me to much anymore. It's really light and hard to see, so if you glance over it you will more than likely miss it. unless you already know its there. Plus with that little imperfection, it just makes her more uniquely mine.
That's a good point. I was told a while back that until you have a stain of some type on your girl, she's not truly "yours" yet. =3 I suppose that's right in a way.....
