Who's received the Support Ver. Miku from Goodsmile?
Sun 2011/07/24 04:54 JST

Just saw a Youtube video by one of our comrades here, The Female Otaku, in which she unboxed her new Miku. I ordered my through the link here back in April and my order still says "Preparing Shipment". This is really starting to bug me considering all the posts where folks bought theirs at conventions so I wanted to ask who here ordered it from GSC and has received it?

I got an email on the 14th saying mine had shipped, but they didn't provide a tracking number and its still not arrived. It was meant to be a late July shipment though so I wouldn't worry yet.
I got my email the same day as well but still stuck in preparing shipment. Still amazed to see others getting it before me though. No point in ordering ahead if others can just pick it up elsewhere first.
Same as you two, got an email saying its been shipped with no tracking info. EMS can take up to 10 business days, so we have another week to worry. =p
please remember that this is one of the first time they attempted to sell themselves overseas. Also, all proceeds of buying the Miku Support version (if bought from GSC) goes to the Japan Red Cross (still shady), but if you are buying it at cons or off of ebay, you can guarantee yourself that they are inflated prices -although, they DID say they will MAKE as much as they have received orders, so that's just sad for other people.
I'll start to worry at the end of July, since we already paid for it (and paid for it during a time when the Yen was still not as bad as what we see today... Seriously, $1 = 78 Yen? travesty...
While I understand its their first time doing this, the fact that they make foreign orders wait a month instead of treating everybody equally is what I find disturbing. There is always someone talking about how the Japanese discriminate against gaijin and stuff like this gives it credence.
I really don't think that it's discrimination that GSC makes foreigners wait one month more to actually fulfill their order. Could it be that the Japan order should have taken place in august, perhaps. But I would think that the capacity of foreigners v Japan weights heavily on the foreign side (especially since the option was available to us), so some time gap to actually make the orders and QC them would be much important, rather than sending the foreign community a bunch of Chinese bootleg quality nendos.
note: I don't work for GSC. If in fact I don't get stuff starting August, I will sound the alarm. Maybe Danny can do something regarding the updates~
I generally tend to give folks the benefit of the doubt but the previous incident where GSC told Amiami they could not give the same discount percentage to foreign orders shows a clear bias to me. Several Mikus were bought at conventions so they had been out a while. The reason I posted this question here was to see if anyone who ordered from GSC did get it and no one did although Jojo ordered from another site and did receive it with some other loot. Basically, they took care of the orders in Japan first and made us wait. Not cool.
I got my notice on the 14th as well, although they did gave me a tracking number, they didn't gave me a website as where to track it <_<
Recieved a mail the 14 july.. Ordered 2, one for myself & the other for my friend.. Only got on mail about shipment, but they are both under 'Preparing for shipping' - GSC haven't answered my mail about the other shipping mail..
On MyFigureCollection people are all complaining about no answers to there mails & that no one as gotten a Tracking no. or anything at all..
Good to hear I'm not the only one but kinda disappointed that the service is so poor.
Yup, I'm in the same boat as everyone else. Its great that you can now buy direct from GoodSmile but not as good service as a real shop!
Not at all. Female Otaku mentions the store she ordered it from and they can get it to her in a timely fashion. Why not us?
Just watched her video. She ordered from YesAsia NOT direct from GSC. The Japanese release was end of June, so she actually got that quite late for an end of June release (because yesasia are alwys slow with shipping but it is free). Yesasia buy the Japanese release and resell it on. The International release from GSC was always set to be the end of July. Figures normally come out right at the end of the month so I was surprised to see their email early, however this whole tracking thing is funny. I'm just saying that please be aware that this is GSCs first time selling direct to international customers and it seems they aren't very good at it yet.
You too could have bought the earlier Japanese release through a proxy or reseller instead of going direct through GSC.
Definitely going to consider going through a reseller next time. Makes me want to ask Boss Aki why he does this knowing the products will get outside the country anyway. "Why do you treat your foreign customers differently from your Japanese ones?" Would love to hear his answer although my guess is he feels its OK to give Japanese clients preferential treatment since his company is in Japan.
I did receive an email from Goodsmile on the 14th July.I have been given a tracking number .Last tracked at HONG KONG INTL MAIL CENTRE where goods been sitting for ages.
Saw something about Hong Kong also when I tried to track the shipment. Very odd.
I also got an email on the 14th saying it had been shipped, though the shipping number is unavailable and on the GSC online webstore when I log in it says preparing for shipment.
I also have a Hong Kong tracking number. At the tracking it says it won't leave Hong Kong until the 25th. So hopefully it'll be here soon after :)
I got the same email as everyone else here. Glad I'm not the only one wondering what the hell. Damn it, Good Smile. I thought my Miku was lost in the mail, but you haven't even shipped it yet. D: I hope this won't happen with my Gumako too.
I hope Danny sees this post and speaks to Boss Aki about it. This is NOT making a good impression for future purchases.
I Hate to say this... but the fact from shipping to me is too late...
and i check... GSC Don't use EMS... but SAL Parcel... O.O
the shipping begin from 6 July from HongKong, but just leave at 21 July....
well, just pray can come to me safely...
Hold the phone! It specifically states on the order page that EMS is the sole shipment method available outside Japan. This makes no sense to me.
EMS was advertised, I paid for EMS as advertised and am expecting EMS delivery time's and a tracking number...
I am though mindfull of this being GSC's first time with taking international orders directly and in keeping with the spirit of this being a part donation to a very worthy cause I don't really mind waiting a for a bit longer.
sorry, can you source this claim that they are using SAL Parcel, rather than EMS?
granted, no tracking and taking a long time sorta makes it not EMS, but I want some hard fact -in case we all decide to hound on GSC (if need be)
I got an email today saying that my order went out July 14 although their web page doesn't indicate that. SAL usually takes 3 weeks so I'm still in the proper time window. We'll see on Monday.
I also got the shipping e-mail on the 14th. Hoping Miku arrives before Cirno does!
I think it's strange that some of us received tracking numbers while others didn't, considering we all paid for the same service.
I have a friend who is in the same boat as you. I wouldn't sweat it since shipment is going out sometime this coming week. GSC just screwed up a bit sending a early e-mail without a clear message. I ordered mine through PlayAsia. She was shipped out July 4th and I got her on July 11th with SAL. So far I'm thinking of ordering the figma version through them as well.
Perfect example of what bothers me about this whole shipping situation. They release it in Japan where they know companies like PlayAsia will buy some and send them abroad and make foreign orders wait a month. No point in pre-ordering from GSC if this is gonna happen. BTW, how much was is for Miku from PlayAsia?
Whoops I meant YesAsia ^_^ I got Miku for $1.00 USD (80 yen) more than GSC. Not too bad considering it got here a whole month prior. The only good thing about ordering through GSC is that the shipping costs remains the same up to 5 copies, whereas YesAsia the shipping is per copy.
Getting a figure a month earlier for $1 really shows how bad the situation is. Definitely will not be ordering from GSC directly ever again.
Those who have received I think their sources are Japan stocks. As oversea stocks should be sometime in July (Japan local is June). Since GSC started shipping Japan in end June. Hope everyone will theirs actual notice by this week =)
It's August now, and I still nothing. Although, i checked the status of my order last week and it said "preparing shipment", then I checked today and it said "shipped". Hope that's a good sign. I feel bad for asking because the reason i bought this was mainly to support Japan and for the people who ordered it through Goodsmilecompany like me are also donating money towards Japan's relief efforts. I'm not sure if buying this figure from a convention means that the sales from that goes towards Japan's relief efforts though.
They just changed the status on mine now to "shipped." Hopefully it will arrive soon.
I am FURIOUS!! I just received my miku support ver nendoroid and the box was badly badly damaged. Anyone have any idea what I can do? I just emailed goodsmile.
If it went through Hong Kong, I can believe it. Seen videos of how they handle mail and its a shame. Hope GSC does something for you quick. Did you email them photos as well? That usually helps.
Yup, it came from GoodSmile Hongkong.
Crap, I think mine will as well. GSC is really dropping the ball on this one. Won't be ordering direct from them anymore.
Mine is like the box has been punched in and the whole box is dented like some bootleg figure box. Even the corners are dented
but figure still intact, looking from the outside.
The usual "Hong Kong Quality" we've come to expect. Please make a post about what GSC does for your situation as some of us here will likely be joining you.

Keep in mind that Hong Kong is the major shipping hub in the east. Any order from Japan will always travel though Hong Kong. From the pictures I see, the problem is the poor boxing from GSC.

They sent me an email on July 14th as well saying mine has shipped, but it still hasn't arrived. In 7 days it will have been a month since that email. EMS usually comes in 1/4 of that time.
Looking at my Goodsmile account it says it shipped but says that there is no tracking number available. I thought all EMS had tracking numbers. :\ Hopefully it will come soon... I can only hope.
Something is really off on this. I've ordered lots of items via both EMS and SAL and I've never seen anything this sloppy and unprofessional. I don't know who runs the orders department but they should be fired if GSC has any plans to sell stuff directly.
Sooo glad I found this post, I've been tearing my hair out trying to work out wtf happened to my Miku. I too received an email on 14/7 saying it's been shipped, no tracking number, nothing! I emailed GS a few times, but it takes them like 2 weeks to reply in extremely broken english. The latest reply I got was this:
"Dear Sir and Madam
Thank you very much for your message.
Sorry for inconvenience this matter.
For your shipping, The pursuit number is not issued.
Your order has been send on the 14th of July.
When it is customer's delivery country, even the arrival will be about 3 months time-consuming of us.
Please contact us again when the spare prick doesn't reach."
So yeah, since people here are saying they are sending by SAL, the whole thing makes A LOT more sense. I've ordered TONS of stuff from amiami with EMS and it usually only takes 4 days to get to me. And yeah, I'm pretty pissed that I paid EMS and got SAL, really poor effort by GS. If this wasn't partly for charity, I would be calling GS and giving them an earful in my crappy japanese!
Got the same email about the spare prick not reaching. LOL. Seriously though, I'm surprised Danny has not commented on this issue at all considering he posted about the figure himself.
I just received the following email from Goodsmile about my order:
"Regarding to Nendoroid Miku Hatsune: Support version for worldwide delivery,
We are plan to ship by EMS but this time we ship by Surface Parce.
We are sorry indeed for the report's delaying.
We are getting time to the shipment straightening arrival by shipping service about the customer whom the spare prick has not arrived now.
Your order has been send on the 14th of July from Hong Kong.
Please see below about days until arriving and confirm your arrival days.
When your order doesn't arrived on this schedule, please contact us again.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
...
United States of America - All other States (X) about 3 months"
This is very disappointing. Not only am I not getting the shipping service that was advertised, I am moving at the end of the month. So here's hoping the post office will forward the package to my new address! In America this would be called "Bait and Switch"... I would never have thought a Japanese company like Goodsmile would do something like this. (╥﹏╥) *is one sad panda*
Didn't want to end on a sour note in case anyone digs this thread up again. GSC sent an email tonight sincerely apologizing for the error and stating they'll refund the shipping costs. My faith is restored.
