Hand-knitted DD sweater (Tamaki modelling)

Posted by PrettyCranium

One of my hobbies that I am very passionate aboout is knitting (and spinning, and other fiber-arts). I have already knit one DD sweater, which Suzume (Yuki M) wears now as part of her "default" outfit. A few months ago, I finished a second sweater. When Tamaki came home, I thought it was the perfect time to show it off!

To make these sweaters in scale, I use tiny yarn and needles. This sweater used 1.5 mm needles. There are as many stitches in it as in a human-sized sweater. In fact, to make this sweater for me, I would just have to use bigger yarn and needles.

I think the sweater is a little tight on Tamaki's L-bust, but hey, she can pull it off!

As you can see, the pattern is a wee bit stretched on Tamaki. But it still looks good!

More close-ups, and Tamaki's cute face!

Omake! Tamaki has a new pet. Can she tame him?

Thank you, I really appreciate it! I'm a bit of a slow knitter, so I'm afraid I won't be selling them. Once you factor in the cost of the yarn (fine yarn can be very expensive), and the hours I spent on it, I'm too unwilling to sell them!

I can imagine it costing as much or more than a human sweater ^^;;; cos the stitches are so tiny, must be hard on your hands/eyes!

Thanks! The yarn is a nice heathered yarn from Knitpicks. It had been sitting in my yarn stash for a few years, but when I found this pattern, I thought it would work nicely!

Nice work. More patience and skill than I'll ever have. I figure if I tried to work with needles that small I'd break myself or the needles.

Thanks! Knitting is actually pretty easy, and it's hard to break the needles (or yourself). Just don't leave the needles someplace you might sit down without looking . . .

The best way to learn is to keep practicing. Are you on Ravelry? If not, you should join -- it's an amazing Internet knitting, crochet and spinning website. I go by the same user name there.

Thank you! The "cute kitty" is actually Kyuubey from the anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica -- if you watch the store, you will see that he is not what he seems . . .

You're welcome. :D Is he some sort of evil thingy? LOL I only know it from all the new figure announcements featuring Madoka. Very cute, though. :D

Awesome! That sweater is so very nice! Even if it may be a tad tight across her chest, I think it just makes it look even better! Why not show off your assets if you've got them? =3

Thanks! I'm not used to having an L bust girl (all of mine except Mikuru and Tamaki are M bust) so it takes some getting used to. Imagine that fitting a pattern to a DDdy would be challenging.
