How to fix Dollfie hair

Posted by Pacthesis [www]

I'm kind of a noob with Dollfie care, but I'll post this anyway and hope that it'll be useful to somebody else. orz If anybody else has a better method of doing this, then please speak up! D:

If your Dollfie's hair looks like this then keep on reading. (I hope that it isn't as worse as my poor Sasara's, cause I messed it up on purpose to exaggerate it lol.)

First you'll need some taming cream (I'm using cream for human hair, not doll hair since I don't have any wig mist. orz) and a soft toothbrush.

LIGHTLY brush through her hair. Make sure to not yank out your poor girl's hair. Just run the toothbrush through gently.

Ta-dah! See how much better it looks already?

Take about a pea-sized amount of taming cream...

And spread it on her hair. Don't forget to do the back of her hair and avoid getting the cream on her face.

Perfect! Even better than Mama~! <3
NOTE: Use as much taming cream as you want to get the desired look, but don't use a ridiculous amount. Bad things might happen to her wig...

Also, if your girl has lots of curls or if her curls don't stay in place even with the cream, then it might be a good idea to tie tiny rubber bands (Or twist ties, whatever works...) and leave them in for a few hours.

To be honest, unless you wash it out afterward, I wouldn't use any human products on dolls or their wigs. Products made for people often contain oils and chemicals that can damage our dolls. Some oils in things like make up, creams and hair products can make unsightly stains, oils spots and discolourations on dolls.

Other then that, to keep your doll wigs in good condition, just brush them every so often. I use a small pocket sized hairbrush to get out tangles, then a soft tooth brush to finish it of and style. I've had dolls for over 5 years and doing this has kept their wigs in fine shape and I have never needed to use any styling products at all.

Thanks so much for the advice! I'll be sure to be careful with what I put on my Dollfie. I think a small hairbrush would work well too.

I personally try not to use cream on the dollfie's wigs since it may get on her face/body and cause "oily stains" (Which I seem to read about time to time). I find that if I comb the wig starting from bottom, and slowly work my way to the top in the direction of the curl of the hair it usually tame the hair quite okay ^^

I also just brush Nia's hair with a tooth brush and her curls look jsut fine. But few days ago I also wondered if human hair care products would be good, but I guess I won0t risk it :)

I would definitely not putting creams or any human hair care product on the dolls.

For styling I like Volks water wax better. It holds the styling very well. Oil Spray I use it to moist the hair when they get really really dry. As for brush a tooth brush is the perfect solution. Reason being? Well Volks actually sells one of the hair brush for dolls and it really was no different than a tooth brush with a sharp tip at the other end for $10. So save $10 and use a normal tooth brush instead heh.

I was just thinking what Aquilla mentioned above, I think wig care would be done with some special products, but it would be so tempting to use actual hair products on her XD
