Autobot Drift : Transformers characters spinoff from comics

Looking at the released Generations Transformers toy Drift. Which is a spin off from IDW Drift
The design and the theme of the character Drift is kinda like a Cybertronian Samurai who prefers to settles scores up close and personal rather than blasting away at a long distance.
Of lately, it seems to be little distinction between the Transformers toys and characters which is released both by Hasbro and TakaraTomy.
IDW Publishing Transformers mecha design looks kinda cool, and hope that TakaraTomy and Hasbro will release more and more IDW stylized designs.
What do you guys think ? More toys to be spin up based on comic designs on top of existing mainstream TV and movie franchise ?
Well, it is a bit of a surprise that we got Drift which as you've said is based of the IDW comics. If we're to get those designs, it's probably up to the 3rd party companies as Hasbro & Takara Tomy are currently focusing on the final line from the movies then will eventually shift to the Prime and Classics/Universe/Generations toylines.
Though we can only speculate as Hasbro has been bringing surprises as of late.
Seems like it TakaraTomy and Hasbro are sharing the designs/molds. The current Classics/Universe/Generationss is being issued by TakaraTomy as United instead of continuing the Henkei line which is essentially the same.
I do hope like you do that Hasbro and TakaraTomy comes out with more surprises.
On the side note, kinda pity that TakaraTomy does not reissue the 1/18 ScopeDogs from the VOTOMS series.
