NoDaMe x Eri

I recently had the opportunity to meet the artist who's piano playing was used to animate Nodame Cantabile. Her name is Eri Furuya and she's an amazing pianist. Her Husband used a motion capture system (Kinda like they use for sports games) to capture the exact finger movements she uses while playing. He's currently working at the University of Minnesota in the same Laboratory as my wife. They are one of the nicest couples I've ever had the chance to meet.

The website links to the academic paper that resulted from this project as well as other cool things.

that's pretty cool. i love nodame but i never really thought about the finger movements when people were playing the piano.
WOW! That is really wonderful! A small world isn't it.^^
what... they live in the US? That's cool...
Her Husband Shinichi is working as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Minnesota. If you're ever in the memorial union and see someone practicing Piano at a level far above the casual player its probably Eri playing.
Wow, I didn't think Nodame Cantabile used this kind of high technology... No wonder the cg for the intrument playing is so smooth.
I loved the anime and the music is so @_@,so much work put into it~
