Nendoroid Hatsune Miku Support Delay

Just got an e-mail from good smile giving me the news that i'll have to wait 3 months for for delivery as they are using surface post rather than EMS. I'm don't mind too much as I bought the figure for charity but it does not bode well for future releases.

Got it as well. At least we got a formal explanation of what's going on. Still kinda pissed about the whole thing though. Someone from Singapore already received theirs so hopefully it won't take the full 3 months for me.
wait, why Singapore got it so early? 0 w 0;
Mine was shipped on the 14th of July so It's a month closer. But why did they take so long to tell us.
I.. Don't get it.
Why Malaysia is split into 3 shipment??! It's not like Malaysia is THAT big.
Can anyone explain to me?
WTH, It shouldn't take 3 months to ship to most countries. SAL, which is the shipping method that they seem to be using, should be 3 or 4 weeks to most countries.
They really need to give people the option to choose between SAL and EMS. It's wonderful that they are taking international orders, but they need to provide their customers with the correct information. Promising EMS then changing to SAL does not bode well with me.
It is Surface mail not SAL.
Take a look here. http://www.figure.fm/post/en/30242/Nendoroid+Hatsune+Miku+Support+Ver.html
They've been using SAL.
Hmm :/
but they charged you guys +10 dollars (shipping)right?
Yes. That's one of the things I'm annoyed about.
They charged EMS but provide SAL.
That's why I think they need to provide separate shipping charges. One for SAL and one for EMS. And then let the customer choose.
Oh, I'm not buying from them.
So I don't really know about their shipping method :P
Did GSC state why they use SAL instead of EMS?
No, they said EMS is the only option.
Then they decided to ship it via another option. GRRR
That's the problem, false advertisement. They're really trying to pull a fast one on us.
I got this same email today after I emailed them last week requesting an update. I'm the same with you on that I don't mind too much since I bought this nendo for charity part of it, but this made me less likely to order the BEATLESS figure they've got up for order now.
Why do you order it from the Global-site? Why not.., AmiAmi/HLJ/Hobby Search etc. Or your local store?
It looks to be a GSC online store exclusive. It's not listed on HS/HLJ/AmiAmi unless I'm not good at using the search bar, lol.
Other places like Yesasia had it online as I know people who ordered it through them.
I'm on the same boat as you. I want the BEATLESS figure, but then after I placed my first order from GSC, I'm not going to order it from them again. I prolly go somewhere to place my order.
My biggest problem is that they charged EMS price for SAL, which is considerably cheaper. It's almost as if they realised that giving 1000Y to charity would mean that they are selling the nendo at a loss, so they went for the SAL. I'm definitely not gonna go accuse them of this, but this is just what I think with the facts at hand.
Also, hello to my fellow aussies. Let's hope we get it soonish!!
I think they did realize they would be losing money and pulled this switch. I hope someone fluent in Japanese complains to the government so we can get some of our money back.
I can do that, but I need more evidence. I can use the actual webpage for the miku hatsune support ver. since it states what it was going to do. Or any other site that officially advertised the support ver. saying it was going to ship EMS
GSC sent me a confirmation email for my order that clearly states that EMS is the sole shipping method available outside of Japan. Check your confirmation email.
"Shipping method :
EMS (EXPRESS MAIL SERVICE is the sole shipping method available outside of Japan) - EMS
No Preference
Products:
Nendoroid Miku Hatsune: Support ver.
GCP101 1
Shipped By: EMS Tracking Number: not_available_for_this_shipment"
But I actually want the product web page or the usage guide for the Miku Hatsune Support Ver., since if that says EMS, they won't be able to get away with "oh, the email is a typo"
I'm pretty sure that if you search Danny's posts you'll find the one where he advertises this. They wont be able to claim a typo if everyone with different order numbers got the same email, I think. I emailed them today demanding a refund for the shipping and am waiting on their reply.
http://cheerful-japan-global.ecq.sc/help
There you go, on the "Checkout Page", subsection 3 is where they say it's the only option. Also in "Shipping Details"
Yup got that email too. Its 2 months for me.
Got the email also and was gonna make a post but you beat me to it. The aren't using SAL but rather something called Surface Parce. SAL takes less than a month so 3 months can't be it. This constitutes false advertising on the part of GSC and something needs to be done about it. I think they are counting on it being for "charity" preventing a lawsuit or complaint to the Japanese authorities. At the very lest they should refund part of the shipping charges but instead we get an email telling us "sorry we screwed you guys over." The nerve of these guys is unreal.
Heh. Watch out for the Wonderfest Exclusives which was available via the same GSC website. They also only charged 2000yen for shipping.
Now I'm worried whether my Madoka nendos + QB will arrive safely ...
I hope you guys' Miku won't get 'wet'
:(
yup, surface mail.
I think they mean shipped by boat when they say surface post.
Wtf that's even worse! OMG, ok I don't care I'm emailing them for a refund of the difference in shipping charges. This is beyond ridiculous. They probably won't refund, but still, GRRRRRR!!!!
I hope you get some results. Maybe telling them you are going to complain to the government about false advertising will get some results. They did say on their website that EMS was the only option and that's what they charged. SAL would have been cheaper and lots faster than this Surface Parce service.
It would be good if other people also send them an email about a possible refund in shipping cost difference. For me, it's not the money, it's the fact that they charged us for something and gave us something else.
It's obvious that they only sent out a broadcast email because heaps of people must have been emailing about the status of their miku. So yeah, I urge everyone to email them. The worst that could happen is that they don't refund. Worth a try I reckon.
Think I will do that.
i'm going to do that too. let's see what they going to do for their website order....
Yeah, I contacted them end of last week about it and was surprised to see this suddenly show up after a month since shipping. The charge about 2000 Yen for shipping outside of Japan which is around 25 US dollars. That's the cost of EMS shipping normally. Surface Parce doesn't cost this much though.
3000 yen shipping fee for this?
2000
That's bull. Given that nendo is for charity, but business-wise this is practically fraud. I've seen the shipment packaging done for this figure, they cut corners hardcore and a few people got dented boxes. This shipping 'option' they switched to is going to make it a rough ride for these orders.
They better not pull this crap with other releases (especially Lacia..)
3 months delivery time to UK T____________T
They really dropped the ball on this one. I'm surprised no one at GSC knew the difference between the different shipping options.
Lemme join the rage train! I too sent them an e-mail after receiving their long delayed excuse on what was going on. Did they think we were going to let this slide because it was a charity event? Sure, I did this with helping Japan in mind but when your item is to be shipped and you stay silent for a month only to ship us the item through snail mail.... You're not going to make many friends.
Unfortunately I don't think Badfrown Company is ready for primetime with their international shipping as much as I was excited about them opening their exclusives to the world. I may be over reacting a bit but if the same thing happens with their next Support Japan release, then I think its time to find another way.
I still don't see any change from their online shop website. I would say you better start find another way to order the item you want.
My friend received the same email too. Gosh, in a previous post, we all thought GSC shipped via SAL (which was bad enough) instead of EMS. Now, it's revealed to be Surface Parcel which is CHEAPER and way SLOWER than SAL. Where's all the extra money that we paid for the shipping going to? Not nice, GSC. Where's your sincerity in supporting Japan?
Not only slower, but easy to get dented box too....
i got one,, and yeah,, i'm so pissed.. i emailed them for three times and now only iget to know the shipping got delayed and they change it to surface parce.. this is so unacceptable!! >:(
Seriously? That's unacceptable. I really hope that this doesn't happen for future releases, as this can possibly destroy any credibility the company has. It makes me think twice about ordering directly through them now.
I think this was handled by an outsource company. Anyway, this is a first time GSC doing international sales. So I hope the same mistake won't appear in the next shipment. GSC, please don't disappoint all your fans around the globe again.
Agreed. I really hope they work out the kinks for next time.
3 months!? Must be a typo or something! I hope everyone gets their figures soon.
"Shipping Details
figma Miku Hatsune: Support ver. Is planned to be shipping in late November 2011 via EMS. The cost will be 2000JPY for all available locations. Please note that delivery may be delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. Import tax and other fees occurred after shipping are the buyer’s responsibility."
Does anyone have this description, but for Nendo Miku Support?
Just log into your account on their website. It'll say EMS some where in your orders after you click on them.
Also look on their help section of the order website: http://goodsmile-wf-global.ecq.sc/help
3. Shipping Method Page
The only shipping method available on our website is EMS. Shipping will be charged at 2000JPY to any of the available countries. Make sure you’re happy with this, and then click ‘Continue’
What unforeseen circumstances?! It wasn't start before the tsunami. It was happened after the tsunami, and I don't see any circumstances going on. And they shouldn't change the shipping method from EMS to another shipping method without notifying us. By the time they shipped out the order, they should know what kind of the shipping method they used. They were still trying to cheat us by sending out the email which telling us that they had shipped your order with EMS service......That's very bad.
Ugh. I'm starting to think of this as a troll face. D:
I'm thinking if buying via yahoo japan in future and skipping GSC. Yea it will cost me a little more, but at least I'll get mine in a week rather than 3 months. I was going to reply asking if it were some sort of a sad joke considering I payed for EMS, but am letting it slide.
Exactly~ Even though we pay extra on the item, but we can save it on the shipping.
For example, the Nendoroid Miku Support ver. cost you 4000yen from another online store, but they do provide the EMS or SAL for your order which will cost you less than 2000 yen on the shipping.
4000yen for Nendoroid + 1000yen for SAL = 5000yen for one Nendoroid shipped. As you can see you are paying the same cost for the Nendoroid, but you do receive it within 3 weeks max. So, it makes me why not order it from other place...
this really made me so mad to find out, was already frustrated that they were selling her at AX when she was supposed to be "limited" but felt that "oh well, I know I've got my order secured and I'll get her soon" but 3 months is ridiculous!
welcome to the club?
Yep, same here. I was tempted when I saw the figures at the AX booth, but I was like "Hey, I don't need to stand in line to get this, I ordered mine already! derp derp derp"
well, more like "why are people buying here? They could have easily gotten it... Why did they wait?"
I actually didn't hear about the figure until the pre-orders were already closed.
Seeing folks here buy her at the shows also ticked me off. Then we see some companies like Yesasia filling orders for people. Starting to think they did this so that people outside Japan would understand the despair and sadness of the Japanese people following the disaster. Lord knows I'm depressed after their email.
I usually prefer SAL to EMS and don't mind waiting a month. Three months is way too long. Goodsmile's ad did specify EMS as at the only mode of shipment. Should we be entitle to a discount because of the shipping arrangement was changed?
no, we can go for litigation if we want to.
Any Japanese lawyer here who can start a litigation for us?
Just sent off a message using the contact form:
"I have received the poorly machine translated email regarding the delay in Support Version Miku Nendoroid's shipping.
I paid 2000 yen for EMS shipping, and was told that EMS was the "sole method of shipping for international orders." Now my shipment is delayed to about 3 months, and is coming via Surface Parcel. This is absolutely unacceptable. I paid for EMS which takes only about a week and has a tracking number. Now everything is being shipped on a boat and will take months with no insurance against my package being lost or damaged. It is not acceptable to advertise EMS shipping and then switch to surface parcel after charging 2000 yen.
Why was the shipping method changed? What does the company plan to do on reimbursing us for the shipping? I paid for EMS and got surface parcel. I will never order direct again, even if I have to pay extra to order through a third party."
I doubt I'll get a meaningful reply though :/
I sent an email demanding a refund for the shipping difference. Hope we get a positive reply.
I've opened a big can of worms starting this post. I think GSC have got caught off guard by the sheer amount of people who wanted to buy this figure to support Japan, I can't think of any figure that has had such a high demand and I'm surprised they actually made them all in the first place. I suspect that to to ship them all by EMS or SAL would take just as long due to the limited space on the aircraft used, with some customers getting the package in weeks and others in months. At least now we are all in the same boat ;).
That being said they should have done more than wait a month before sending a badly translated bulk email.
to put bluntly though, they had it coming. They knew that by utilizing their online shop option to international customers, people WILL order. The option was there, so why would we buy it from another source at an inflated rate. That flat shipping really got me thinking.. So glad I did not order another one to make an extra buck or two -the price of this nendo after international orders are complete would depreciate this figure immensely...
I think this might kill GSC's online shop through loss of credibility, but I'm sure they didn't screw us over intentionally. I don't think anyone could have predicted how popular this figure would become though. Most figures have a set market for fans of the character it's based on, but this has a much wider appeal as its helping a cause we all believe in (i'm not a even massive nendo fan). This figure to me is a bonus for donating to a worthy cause.
I think they did screw us over intentionally because the amount of figures isn't the problem, getting them to us is. EMS costs more and with them donating 1000yen from each figure, they probably thought the loss was unacceptable and changed the shipping method to save money. They clearly said EMS was the only option and that's what would be used. They need to make this up to us really good to preserve their company image because you better believe retailers like Amiami and others are going to hear about this.
Now, I'm thinking how GSC going to handle those money (Donating 1000yen per Miku Support ver. sold) to help japan recover, and where they going to put the money on? I don't see any updates on it, but I may missed the announcement....Anyway, not like HobbyLinkJapan, they did tell ppl how much donation money they got from ppl who placed the order from them. And they did real make a video tells ppl where they put the money to (Japan Red Cross). You can see the video from the following link "http://www.hlj.com/redcross.html". I think that GSC should do something like this to tell ppl about this since many ppl order this coz they want to do some donation to help Japan...
Sry the link above doesn't work. Here is the link again http://www.hlj.com/redcross.html
I was going to write this post when I saw yours so don't feel bad about it. LOL. As for the shipping problem, its clearly GSC cutting corners to avoid taking a loss on this "charity" product. If they give 1000yen to charity for each figure and deduct it from the 2000yen shipping, it leaves just 1000yen which wont be enough without cutting into the price of the figure. Shipping EMS is well established and I've bought from companies like Mandarake and Hobby Search with EMS shipping no problems. Space on the planes isn't the issue, its all about the money.
Yeah. And also don't forget that these were apparently made to order. So GSC had full knowledge of how many orders they were going to have to honour. I forget when pre-orders ended, but they had ample time to figure out how to ship everything efficiently. Clearly, they have failed on that front.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one pissed about this though. I'm looking forward to how they respond to our emails, even it's probably going to be a 2 week wait...
I got this e-mail earlier today too. Oh well, I don't even care anymore. I'm just gonna forget about it. If it comes it, it comes. If it doesn't, it doesn't. As long as the money I paid is actually helping the victims of the Tsunami in Japan, that's all that matters.
yeah man, really hope our money goes out to help the victims.
Hey everyone, im from singapore, and i just picked up my Support Miku. I must say, im realllllyyy disappointed. The shipping package i received... it is only barely a few millimeters larger then Support Miku's own packaging, the only buffer they gave for "protection" is a single sheet of bubble wrap, thats not all, it only covered the front, back and top of Miku's box. Not to mention, i got a dent in my package too, a huge disappointment indeed. The box art is really beautiful, or should i say was, if it was not to be damaged.
Just received an email from GSC, in perfect English this time, explaining that an error was made in the shipping method and that everyone's 2000yen shipping fee would be refunded. They also assured that replacements would be sent if the package arrives damaged or is lost.
So in all, I'm pretty satisfied with the ass-kissing. Off to preorder my Beatless Leicia now.
Yep, and wow! I take back everything I said about GSC. They are great!!!
Nice work guys, I think it would nice (and very appropriate) for us to donate the refund to Japan Red Cross:)
Same here, just received the same email from them today. Didn't expected that they will refund the shipping cost to us. Prolly, there were BUNCH OF PEOPLE sending them an email about this issue. I would like customer won in this case. Hopefully, they won't make anymore mistake in the future.
Got my email too and am satisfied with the results. We get our shipping back and they'll replace any damaged figure boxes. Gonna make a post about this to advise others.
Yeah do that, I tried to make a post earlier but it wouldn't show up. Probably cos I'm new. Anyway, I got my 2000 yen back already lol. Amazingly efficient.
I'll be waiting for my email from Paypal. Just made a post for folks to see the conclusion of this case. Hope the guy with the damaged box sees it and contacts GSC for a replacement.
I just received the email also. I feel better now. I'll have to wait until it arrives.
