Miku Resolution

As some of you may know GSC has decided to refund the 2000yen shipping charge for overseas orders and replace any damaged shipments. Looks like our emails reached Boss Aki and they have decided to take care of things which makes me very happy. Still ticked I gotta wait to October but at least they made the effort to make it right. Looking forward to seeing her in person when she finally gets here.

wonder how can they mess up between EMS and air parcel?

Simple. They didn't clearly specify to the Chinese sub-contractors. Happens with business all the time. Not specifically specifying the criteria, they will choose the cheapest possible method.

Considering how detail oriented the Japanese are, I find it hard to believe that they told us it was going to be EMS only and not their sub-contractors. Regardless, we are getting our money back and they're making good on any damages to the product so it all works out.

I am curious, who are those Chinese sub-contractors? Do you mean they ship these good not from Japan but directly from their factory in China?

It wouldn't make much business sense to make something in china, to ship to japan, only to ship out the the rest of the world.

As the emails from GSC said, they are shipping out of Hong Kong, which is where their factory is (most likely).

Great outcome, well done. Can't help but wonder if they read the threads here since the apology basically addressed what we were complaining about.

As I mentioned in the other posts, I think it would be a good idea to donate the refund to Japan Relief since this whole saga was apparently a sincere mistake.

Hopefully we don't see people trying to exploit GSC's kind plans to replace damaged goods.

I remember Danny mentioning in a post a long while back they GSC will read posts at figure.fm to see what fan feedback is like for figures or what people would like to see in the future as far as figures go. I'm glad they took up action like they did - shows they really care!

phew~ I was getting worried because my Nendo Miku hasn't arrived...turns out everyone's experiencing the same thing, and it was due to an error. Yeah i just go the email.

I received the same email. I am glad to see GSC is an upstanding company willing to take responsibility for what was ultimately the fault of their contractors in Hong Kong. Though I think someone is going to lose their job over this.

I got the Y2000 refund e-mail as well. It seems the shipments were sent from Hong Kong and maybe some misunderstanding there. I don't think Boss Aki is at fault here.

No, I meant that Boss Aki got word that there was a problem and took charge. Not trying to say its his fault this happened.

Glad we are getting the shipping charge refunded. No way was I going to pay all that money for EMS and not get it. The only thing is now there is no tracking so no knowing if and when you will get it.

I'll also join in the mutual "Good for GSC on refunding the cost of EMS". However, I think I'll wait awhile about ordering anything the from directly until I actually do see that this will 'not' happen again with their future items. Once burned, twice shy.

Good to see that email. Now I'm just annoyed, as opposed to wanting to boycott GSC for a bit. =P To be fair, this is the first time that they did international shipping, but I'm still annoyed. I wonder how they'll refund people like me who used a debit card, though. D: I pray to insert-awesome-deity-here that my Miku makes it in one piece. Nice that they'll do replacements, but still. Wouldn't want to get her replaced after all this.

Probably will do it just like a credit card refund. I also used a debit card so if I don't see a refund within a week, I'll email them again.

I just picked up a delivery of 5x Support Miku today. According to that email, it was supposed to be a 3 month wait! I've also received my refund of 2,000 Yen. It's good to see that GoodSmile have stepped in to clean this mess up and look after it's valued customers.

I'm really glad GSC are refunding the full shipping cost.
Although I have not yet had my 2,000 Yen refund? Still waiting for my Miku shipment direct from GSC.
I'll be glad when this sorry saga is over.
