The trick will be convincing people to order from them after the last fiasco. Its bad enough having to wait a month after its been released in Japan but the worries over the last one still are fresh in our minds.

Were this not for a good cause I’d be inclined agree, but GSC is attempting to come good with the refund of shipping costs for most customers and who is not to say that the problem was a stuff up on their contracted manufacturers end to begin with.

In light of how GSC handled themselves I’d be inclined to give them a second chance. I’m not trying to look like I’m sucking up to anyone here, but I have a strong customer service background and GSC has ticked all the important boxes with how to resolve a difficult and potentially image damaging situation in a professional and prompt manor.

The phrase "once bit, twice shy" is what I'm thinking of in this situation. While I'm glad they are making amends, I don't think its because they realized they screwed over their customers. That email they sent telling everyone their order was going to take 3 months offered nothing but a "gomenasai" for our troubles. It was our emails to the company complaining and demanding a refund that got some action. I also don't believe for a second that it was an error that they changed the form of shipping from EMS to Surface Parcel considering how detail oriented the Japanese are. Seen this first hand on my trips to Japan and really admire it about their culture.

This also isn't the first thing they've done to screw over their customers. I clearly remember the big stink about how Japanese customer of Amiami got much bigger discounts on their products compared to foreign customers. I actually checked both their English and Japanese pages myself and not only were some of the discounts 50-60% for Japanese customer, some figures were not sold on the English website that were available of the Japanese site. I thought it was Amiami's doing until I heard that GSC was the one who caused the shift in policy. Previously, there were a lot of foreign orders buying up stock because of the discounts and GSC forced them to change their policy for foreign orders. Not good IMO.

I share your sentiments. While everyone seems happy with the apology and refund and thinks that GSC handled the incident well, I'm still not satisfied. Why? Because if there really was a mix-up in shipping methods, GSC should have realised the mistake at that point (which was in July) because they would have received a Proof of Shipment and tracking number from EMS. Following that, they should have informed the buyers of the mistake immediately. Why did GSC wait till now to inform the buyers? It's obvious that they are acting under pressure as many buyers have emailed them about the different shipping method used. If not for the buyers' emails, GSC would probably have kept mum about the whole incident and hoped that no one brought it to light.

Hence, the whole fiasco still seems suspicious and I would want a proper explanation instead of just a "gomenasai email".
