Dust on my Hatsune Miku Tony Ver, Help!

Posted by shamanweb [www]

Some time ago I opened my Hatsune Miku Tony Ver. and I realized that was a little oily. I've been cleaning her constantly, but lately I've noticed that some dust has adhered to the paint a little ;o;

I wonder if any of you had the same problem and if you can give me some tips for cleaning her twin tails without damaging it.

I tried with soft soap and water but did not work at all ;o; help!

Mouseover = load notes.

EDIT:

I tried to clean the tails with toothpaste like i saw on Radiant's post... and know what?... it works!!!

After some rubbing with toothpaste and some water got rid of that dust with good results without damaging the pieces... i just had to dry the piece with a towel, and thats it...

I still dont know why in some sites says that water isn't good for PVC, i wonder if they mean to stand figures in water for long periods...

Also... i think this oily / sticky surface on the tails is paint's fault instead the PVC because this problem persists just on the parts with this paint instead the whole figure.. what do you think?

    Saw this older figure.fm post that may be useful: http://www.figure.fm/post/en/19118/How+to+take+care+of+your+PVC+figure+s.html

    From that page, perhaps freezing it first might help(?) although I've never done that before -_-

      Thanks for the reference :D

      On that page mentions something about the plastic that gets oily and states that can crack... actually one of the tails have a small signs of crack ;o;

      I wonder if the freeze will help... actually i just have this problem with this figure of my whole collection and is just on the tails...

    I had the same happen a few times, a microfiber cloth cleans it right off. I put mine back in the box for safety.

      Yup, i used to clean this figure with a microfiber... but now that the fluff is stuck, it's difficult to clean with just a microfiber

        You could try electronic putty or a plastic/kneaded eraser. Gentle enough to not ruin the figure, but it does take some time.

      water = bad for water based paints on figures. dilutes and then wipes right off, of course just a sprinkle of water wont harm too much.

      be careful of how often you're going to clean your figures with toothpaste or any other type of paste, every time you clean a little bit of the finish goes off with it.

      Isnt a bad idea... maybe i should add some extra ingredients to the transmutation circle to make a 1/1 Miku :3 (?) LOL!

      Yep, Miku is clean by now... now i will need to take care of her more often to keep her in good state ^^
