Dollfie World DD Laptop Review!
I recently was able to buy my doll family some Laptops from Dollfie World, once they began posting Sony Vaio laptops that were 1/3 (SD/DD sized). Being a Windows user, I had to get these! I had already bought the Macbook Air that was offered from Dollfie World, and it was an amazing edition to my Dollfie Dream/SD/MSD miniature collection. But before I could place an order myself, a friend had gifted me two of the DD song Vios Laptops. Here is a review on them!

Here is a comparison of the boxes. The Sony Vaio Laptops look a little cheaper in box quality than the Macbook air. They were packed just like the Mackbook air with a bubble wrap sleeve.

Out of the box, the quality of the plastic on the Macbook air feels a lot better compared to that of the Vaio. The Vaio DD Laptops cost about $5 less than what the Macbook Air cost, but I was hoping for something better than this.

Here, we can see that the Macbook Air can be positioned to a proper Laptop position, where as the Vaio falls over flat. I cannot the monitor to lift properly and look like a proper laptop. This was VERY disappointing, and had I had known this... I would not have made an order for two more in pink! I do not know what to do to fix the problem with these laptops, as the clip that holds the Monitor in place does not allow it to stand up, and it slides around a bit. If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this issue, that would be great!
For my conclusion... The Macbook air DD Laptop was a much better buy. It looks nice, does not feel cheap, and can be used in pictures to look like a real laptop. The Sony Vaio DD Laptops were a HUGE disappointment. They feel a bit cheap, the mirror part flops open and cannot be posed like the Macbook air, and was not worth the money I dropped on the two (which was $16 with shipping and handling from Hong Kong). I hate to say all these things, but I just cannot get over my disappointment in this product. And it hurts more, as I was really hoping to let my Dolls enjoy windows based Laptops/PC's, just like their mother. T-T

Thank you for the review and sharing with us! :D Looks interesting!
You are most welcome. I like to collect a lot of miniatures for my dolls, and felt like someone should review DD laptops and miniatures for them! ^; And the full review is up, now.
Thanks for the warning on the other laptops. I really wanted to buy those, but if they don't stand up I don't think I would be very happy.
You are welcome. The fact I could not get them to stand up out of the box was a huge crushing blow to me. I had just ordered two in pink and was going to give one to a friend... Now I do not know what to do. I am just happy to help with warning others of the problems.
This was very helpful! I was going to buy a few of the Vaio but after reading this I know I would not be happy with it.
Gah~! I've just ordered one last week and it's on its way to me... >,<
Thanks for the review! That's disappointing about the Vaio laptops :(
I wonder if you can put in a thin slice of clear plastic between the hinge and keyboard area to make it stand up... kind of locking the screen in an upright position.
I cannot separate the metal part from the plastic hinge without breaking something. It was suggested by Balldylox to get some Silicone and I guess fill it in the gaps to make a barrier to help hold the Monitor up and keep it from falling down.
Oh no, I wasn't suggesting dissembling it ^^; My suggestion was actually similar to Balldylox's, but not worded very well, I suppose.
Hope you're able to get your Vaio laptops fixed :)
You can try to add a small blob of super glue at the clip.
I may use some hot gun that I use for sueding dolls. It's easy to remove without doing damage, and a bit flexible.
You could probably use putty to temporarily hold it open while you take pictures (and angle around showing the putty). Wouldn't be a permanent fix, but isn't destructive either.
I am not sure if putty would work. But should the hot glue not work, I may try that.
Thanks for the review.
I wish this had been posted a week ago or so as I have also ordered 3 for my girl and her friend who will be coming back with me from Japn in sept/oct, and would had thought different about ordering
Any thanks for the info
I wished I had gotten these sooner, myself It would have prevented me from ordering two more (one for me and one for a friend). But we live and learn, I suppose. You are most welcome for the information! Ta!
Those looks neat! You could perhaps try one of those colored paper clips, you know the ones with a colored plastic shell / sleave to match the laptops. Bend it in an L shape or at an angle you want and then possibly glue it to one side or fix it in place with two tiny strips of double sided tape.
This would allow the laptop to stay open at the angle you dictate and as it's only on one side of the laptop it shouldn't be too noticeable especially given how flat and uniform the sides appear on those.
Failing that if you don't mind leaving them perma open then a little bit of glue near the hinge will do the trick.
