Do you bring your Figures on Holiday?

Posted by Haven [www]

While the title explains the whole concept of this post, im really curious on how many of you comrades actually bring your figures on holiday. It might sound silly, into why you would want to bring it but i figured that it can be a fun experience.

Ill track back one year ago when i decided to bring my figma duo Marisa and Reimu on holiday with me to Greece, with also a few shots while i was back in Singapore. With them on board the adventure, they followed me around and discovered the beautiful temples and islands with so much history. The chances of losing or breaking them were there but i took my chances (not a single scratch! XD) and in the end it paid off as this trip created fond memories. Heres a little photobook i created for them and me ^^..so that i can look back and have a smile on my face. Anyway i hope you guys enjoy it.

So the Question again =)

I havent had the opportunity yet, but I would love to bring a figure or two on a trip with me. I should be able to when my family drives to California for the holidays, but the hard part is choosing who to take ^^'.

Mhmm yes the deciding factor on who to take, i have to agree since it took me a whole day to decide, but i think on trips, figmas are most suited because of their size and various poses, you can make different expression for different photos, Have fun in California!

I'll definitely be taking a figma with me, I just need to find one with good expressions who wont break easily. Tsukasa perhaps? Although, Madoka and Homura might make a nice pair...grr I dont even have them yet! Well, I've got a while to decide ^^'

        Thanks, I will ^^

Madoka and Homura would be a good one, having pairs makes it better, plus they are both from same series =) if you get them before the trip bring them!

I've done what we call "holiday mascot" - a small Chococat plush has been taken on trips over last few years. Everyone in my family now reminds me to pack him, and he is photographed in front of scenery (and when people ask, we explain that anyone can take the same bridge photo, but our mascot proves we were really there!)
Last year I did this with Azunyan 1/6 doll...

I never brought my figures on my Holidays but this makes me want to do it. :]
I always brought my Louise Bustier figure to college with me all the time. I'd sit it on my table as an inspiration when I'm drawing in class. Haha.

I started bringing the petit Shinobu from Bakemonogatari. Her stand actually snapped, but that happened to my other petit nendoroid so it wasn't because of the travels. Luckily she's able to sit without a stand just fine.

I brought my misa (death note) nendo petite for my first trip to Japan. I decided to get more figures/nendoroids there and take some pictures with it. But in the end, I didn't^^"

My default traveling "partner" is currently the Danboards (less care required) and usually have 1~2 nendoroids tag along. This year I got myself an Azone PN, she still traveled withing SG only. But sure will bring her along on my next holiday.

The hard part for travel toy photography I think is looking for the spot to place them and ensure they don't play bungee, or some kids pop out and kidnap them...

Wonder what will the customs faces looks like when they open my bag next time...lol

This also brings me to an interesting question, how to DD owners bring their daughters? Hand carry or check-in? As they were quite big...
