Help!: Are these bootlegs?
Tue 2011/09/06 04:40 JST
I saw these a while ago in some online store, the BRS figma is a bit pricey while the taiga one is cheap as hell but I don't think they are the real deal. What do you guys think? Are these bootlegs? I ask because I was thinking in buy one of those >.< but I don't want bootlegs... Pricey bootlegs.
There are others though, Dead Master and Hatsune Miku. Dead Master does look like the original but Miku...
Well, I'll wait for responses ^^; please help me out here!

They all look like bootlegs to me. What shop?
A random shop I found on Facebook.
There's your answer. Never go to facebook or eBay if you want legit figures, you're just asking to get scammed.
Yeah, well, that why I asked arround here for some advice! Thanks to everyone!
i can tell you now that the figma is totally a bootleg.
as for the others, i think they also be fakes - they all have an air of oddness about them.
Right off the bat i'm like, "O_O ewww~" lol that wasn't hard to tell
bootleg, it has shiny skin
100% bootlegs
I thought so. What about Dead Master? It looks pretty convincing.
I think its a bootleg as well. My Dead Master is not like that -,-
woah, one look and u can tell xD extremely bad bootlegs x_x
So much bootlegs..
convincing? how! o_O look at this shine, she doesnt even lookl like the original DM
From the picture, it's at least more "believable" bootleg, i'll give them that much.
this makes me cry o__o
your not the only one...
Oh! well, discarded shop then heh Thanks a lot everyone! You saved my monies ToT
They're all fakes IMO...
Everything seems to be a bootleg. Though I'm not sure about Dead Master.
can you link us the shop so we can know to avoid and to tell others to avoid incase they don't know how to spot bootlegs...
Don't worry, It's an obscure facebook online shop in Venezuela, chances that anyone from here would find it are most likely zero.
(Written again to allow Figure.fm notify you)
still would love a link since i like posting about shops selling bootlegs

I would report the shop and see if Facebook can look into it
I wouldn't by figures off facebook or ebay, unless i find out that it's 100% real, and even then i'm very careful.
That's just... words can't express the facepalming... lol
That Taiga looks legit
Nothing from this shop is legit, don't even think twice about it.
I meant that with air of sarcasm
Dead Master look smore convincing... but I'd say they're all bootlegs :/
If you happen to stumble upon a "Sader", gimme the link, I want one xD
There's a local store that sells nothing but fakes, I kind of want to call them out on it. They were vendor at a con and several people were duped. Legit figures are supposed to be expensive. :/
poor Miku-chan v.v
Bootlegs! bootlegs everywhere!!
ヽ(*゚д゚)ノ
lol, just came back from Quebec. The amount of bootlegged figures they were selling in chinatown were unbelievable xD All selling for full retail price of a new one 0.o
Did you but those? Sorry, bad news, 100% confirmed bootleg. =/
*Buy
Typo
Noo I was thinking in buying from them, but my common sense said: Ask in Figure.fm
All of them look like bootlegs to me ._. It's kinda sad to know that there are a lot of these ;;
Yeah, everything is bootleg. Usually you can tell just by the condition of the box, like the Miku one. When it's "that" messed up, it's a red flag. The Dead Master figure is for sure a bootleg based on the shiny coloring as well as the position of the scythe. The real scythe is positioned deeper within the rubble as opposed to your's which is fully exposed.

A good way to spot bootlegs is to look at the hair all that fine detail is the first thing to go when they do the recasting. On the original Dead Master her hair is fine and flowing on this on it's big and chunky.
theres no such thing as a taiga figma
It seems people say not to buy off ebay...... I hope my Dead master figma isnt a bootleg. :(
With ebay, it's hard to tell. For instance the seller could use legit pictures but supply the fake. There are a few articles on ebay that show how to compare the real deals with the scams and what you should look out for to set the alarm bells ringing. Expo's are also an area where fakes can surface. I bought a Touhou Project arts book at the London MCM only to find it being a bloody good bootleg :<
hrmm... I'll have to check those articles out. when i got it i asked for additional pics, and he took a few and sent them to me and they looked good. I asked a few people and they said it looked legit, so i ended up buying it. after inspecting it and comparing it to GSC pics on there site it matched perfectly, at least to my eyes it did. the seller i got it from had a good seller rating, and said he sold all legit stuff. Only thing that makes me wonder is the figma stand was broke, but i assume that could happen if it knocked around when shipped. I'll try to make a post about it and see what you guys think.
the original has skulls down here
