Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood English Cast

Just got a message from FUNimation that they got the English voice dubbing cast together for Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. As of two days ago I finally got the chance to sit down and watch the series on the FUNimation youtube channel and I have to say...the series looks awesome! Here's the list as per FUNi:

Edward Elric - Vic Mignogna
Alphonse Elric - Maxey Whitehead
Roy Mustang - Travis Willingham
Winry Rockbell - Caitlin Glass
Lust - Laura Bailey
Gluttony - Chris Cason
Maes Hughes - Sonny Strait
Scar - J Michael Tatum
Fuhrer King Bradley - Ed Blaylock
Riza Hawkeye - Colleen Clinkenbeard
Louis Armstrong - Christopher Sabat
Isaac McDougal - Bryan Massey
Envy - Wendy Powell
Jean Havoc / ADR Director - Mike McFarland

Scar and Alphonse have new voice actors and the main role of Edward Elric is yet again being done by Vic Mignogna. Met Vic once and he's actually very friendly to the fans and cosplays at conventions...he's not short though like Edward ^^;

For those who somehow haven't heard of this new FMA series. It's a remake of the series that goes more to the manga than the original series did.

    I wonder what the reason was for the change of VA for Al and Scar ?.?

      Not sure why Scar is different but I'm going to guess that Aaron Dismuke's voice had changed in the past few years so they had to get a new person in.

    Very happy to hear that they will be dubbing this series. Nowadays, more and more anime series are going straight to thinpack without dubs to save costs.

    Was most worried that they would replace Edward Elric's voice. I've gotten so used to hearing Vic Mignogna that anyone else would just sound weird. Wish they didn't change Alphonse though.

      agreed, I liked Aaron Dismuke's voice as Al. Hopefully Maxey Whitehead will do a good job.

      Cowboy Bebop and Big O have decent dubs as well ^^

      I actually have yet to watch more than the first ep of Brotherhood, perhaps I'll need to pick it up at some point and marathon it so I can catch up. From what I hear the story is quite different from the previous animated incarnation.

    I'm interested in hearing Maxey Whitehead as Al as I liked her performances in Baccano as Czeslaw Mayer and Antonio in Romeo X Juliet. Will Funimation bring in Scott McNeil to reprise his role as Hohenheim Elric? Wonder who will voice the new characters like Ling Yao? Aaron Dismuke would be popular choice as Ling Yao. My outside bets would be Brad Swaile, Johnny Yong Bosch or Yuri Lownenthal to voice Ling Yao.

        Aaron Dismuke was young when he voiced Alphonse. Because of puberty his voice is deeper so it would be impossible for him to voice that high, unless he wants to damage his vocal chords.

      If they bring in JYB and this ends up on [as], JYB will dominate the anime portion of saturday night's [as] block with Bleach, Code Geass AND FMA ^^;

        If Funimation are willing to be bold and bring actors from different states or countries during these difficult economical times then it wouldn't be a surprise to JYB in Brotherhood.

    The previous english dubbing is pretty good. I'll rewatch FMA:B again in english dub once it's finish released.

    I never watched the first anime with subtitles, but if it's as good as people say, I'll look forward to the new version.
