Revoltech Reycal Orichalcum
One of the more overlooked action figurines of fairly recent releases, here's one from Revoltech's Yamaguchi line, which is normally known for the posable robot figures.

Reycal Orichalcum is from a manga of the same name (Orichalcum Reycal), whose author is well known for the JINKI series. It appears that the Kaiyodo is trying something new and is including bishoujos in the Yamaguchi line as well (Queen's Blade belongs to its own line and not under Yamaguchi). She is released on 15th August with a retail price of 2400 Yen, but it appears that shops have put her on the shelves as early as 13th.

Reycal comes with:
- 2 extra faces
- 2 extra pair of hands
- Knight Eagle (her mecha looking partner)
- stand
- parts for converting to Knight Reycal (a combination of Reycal and Knight Eagle)

Reycal is fairly posable with good articulations (thanks to the sturdy Revoltech joints).

Hair parts are moveable too. It looks a bit strange from the back and I would have hoped that they will have the gimmick similar to figma Shana, but I got used to it.

Various action poses, and yep it's compatible with figma stands~ ^^

The base has two pegs of which you can hold Reycal or the arm for the stand. I personally find it a bit weak and low, but it can still hold Knight Eagle pretty well.

Knight Eagle by itself. You can have it as it is, or you can dissemble it and let it combine with Reycal to form Knight Reycal. A leaflet is provided for the transformation.

Knight Reycal - Reycal's powerful and temporary form. Looks quite decent and you can sort of relate her to mecha girls or "mecha musume".
Articulations are slightly restricted due to the additional armours, but it's still quite posable.

She comes with a spear in this form, and the spear has a peg so you can insert it in a small hole of either left or right holding hand.

Action pose.

Size comparison with figma Haruhi - Reycal appears slightly smaller to figmas, but is still a good match with them.
A very overlooked figure, but it's definitely fun to play around with. Paint and overall quality may not be as great as figma (in fact I think figma has caused people's expectation of posable figures to be a bit too much nowadays), but still I'd recommend it if you can find this at a good deal.
Both Hobby Search & HLJ has her in stock if you're interested.
As mentioned on top, original blog post here with a few more details:

It's not easy to write a review of her as there are so few reviews out there (no English and only Japanese ones - found 2 so far). So it took me a while to try things out as well as doing the poses etc. I do hope that you'll appreciate my brief review here as well as the figure itself!

Oh wow, revoltech joints in the knees and elbows! I never thought I'd see the day on a female revoltech! I don't know where the character is from, but the gimmicks and joints will likely make this a get for me! Thanks for the post!
Other than the Queen's Blade line, I think it is the first time the Yamaguchi line is releasing a female figure (after Revy which was a long time ago). If you don't mind the clicking noises of the joints, I think you'll find them okay to handle and not too brittle. I'm glad that you do consider getting this little figure!
The only figure I have so far from the Yamaguchi line is Gurren + Lagann, but it's a great one! The details that caused me problems on Revoltech's Gurren Lagann were resolved in this release ^^ I really like the Yamaguchi line so far!
Oooo, nice articulation with her hair, I've never seen hair on any figure like that before!
It sure is unusual. To be honest I first found it unsightly to look at, but eventually I got over with it. On the bright side it's good to have some articulations so that they don't get in the way for some poses!
Another craze since busou shinki is about to begin...^^
Haha it may not be likely, but one can always hope ^^;
Woohoo!! Finally got mine! Have to admit that she lacks the poseability of figmas or the form factor of frauleins but she's way more fun than either!!
Congrats - that took you a long time, but I hope it's worth it!
I look forward to your review of her on your blog!
Is there anything that can be done about the shortness of her neck? That's the only thing that really looks bad.
The neck has its own Revoltech double joint, but I am not sure whether you can modify it.
The only grudge I have is the face which Revoltech is not famous for. If it looks as good as the boxart then this would be a great figure. ^^
Yea the faces don't seem so true to the manga. Can't expect Revoltech figure's faces to be as good as figmas, but they're improving I think.
