ホロは俺の嫁だ!! (Holo is my waifu!!)
Took a small detour to Akihabara on my way home from Asakusa the other day and stumbled upon the most amazing treasure - a life-size poster of Holo from Spice and Wolf! And not just that, it's the bride version of her from the first DS game!

That's a goddess worthy of worshipping. Yes, I know the yukata might not be really appropriate, with the Spice and Wolf world being based on medieval Europe, but I don't own a tuxedo (or the medieval counterpart) so it'll have to do ^^;
Unfortunately I have no place to put her up permanently - she's too wide for the closet door above and I can't do any damage to what little wall space I have - so I'll have to keep her in storage until I move back home next year. Sigh, tiny Japanese apartments suck...

What? Of course I have to kiss the bride, isn't that required?

A shot without me in the way. Gorgeous, isn't she?
She was bundled with the pre-order of the limited edition of 狼と香辛料 ボクとホロの一年 (Spice and Wolf: Holo's and My One Year) for the Nintendo DS released back in 2008. I bought the game a while back, but I never thought I'd find the poster. And she only cost 1575 yen!

I wanna play with her ears...

I also picked up the special editions of volumes 1 and 3 of the manga - the bottom two. The only difference is the cover though, but hey, a special edition is a special edition, right?

And a shot of the collection so far. Still missing a few of the light novels, but I still haven't read all the ones I own yet, so I'll pick them up later. Luckily I had one doujinshi that I could put on top without censoring^^
The rye (I think it is, it's too bristly to be wheat) has a story of it's own. There's an international friendship association in town that holds Japanese lessons a couple of times per month - the whole thing is run by volunteers, so it's pretty much just an opportunity to meet and practice conversation with locals. Anyway, one day I talked to a man there and mentioned Spice and Wolf kind of in passing when talking about books and stuff. The next meeting he shows up and has not only bought and read halfway through the first light novel, but also, on his way there, found a small bundle of rye on the road. Proclaiming it to be a good omen, drawing connections to Holo as a goddess of harvest, he then proceeds to give me half of it. Yeah, he's a funny guy. He's nearly twice my age, but looks almost younger and behaves not wholly unlike a college student.

Spice and Wolf is one of my favorite series and Holo is one of my all time favorite characters. She's definitely a winner.
Need to watch the series eventually :3
Yes. Yes you do. Go watch it right now ;)
isn't this the poster they carry around in Durarara! ??
Apart from the name I know nothing about that series, but a quick google search seems to confirm that yes, it's the same image of Holo. That's all kinds of awesome! I feel a bit compelled to watch the series now, is it any good?
YES!! its awesome!
Only Japan knows how to blend internet gangs and an Irish death fairy into one fun...thing!
That is true dedication.
I'm crazy about scale things so I absolutely love life sized posters.
Great get!
Dedication, huh? When does dedication turn into obsession? I'm afraid I might have already crossed that line O_O
And yeah, life-sized is the best size ^_^
Awesome! You are so lucky. Really want that too. I really love Holo too. Congrats on getting her :D
Nice find! Horo (got to love English spelling) is one of my top 3 anime/manga characters, alongside Mai Ayanami & Miho Tohya. A scale poster is awesome.
Yeah, the spelling kind of irks me too - I go with Holo since that's the official version, but I do like Horo better :/ Anyway, to me she'll always be just ホロ, simple and elegant^^
Very beautiful poster. Still trying to track down it down myself. There is a standie also with the same picture they used in shops that you see in Durarara! Trying to find that as well :|
wow impressive horo collection! ^^ thats a beautiful poster, and great price! most spice and wolf items are very expensive or limited it seems :c
