My New Shelves (& first post!)

Posted by ambitiouslove [www]

Hello!
Very nice to meet you all ^^
This is my first post here~
I just installed some new acrylic shelves to display all my figures, toys, and dolls. Please excuse my photos, I just got a new DSLR camera, so I'm trying to learn all the features :)

My New Shelves (& first post!)

The shelves :) I installed them myself ^^;
Buying a laser level was a great investment so I could do this myself!

My New Shelves (& first post!)

I really like Captain America (Steve Rogers) and X-23... Parappa likes her too ;)

My New Shelves (& first post!)

I've had the Rescue Rangers toys since I was really young :)

My New Shelves (& first post!)

I've had the Darkwing Duck toys since I was young too! haha
I love medical art, and this heart is really neat because it opens up.
Then there's my Vault Boy... I really like Fallout! My favorites are the Brotherhood of Steel.

Mouseover = load notes.
My New Shelves (& first post!)

I love the Resident Evil game series! Jill and Claire are my favorite female characters from the series.
Ritsu is cheering Jill on for a headshot!
In the back are my Code Lyoko figures :) I loved this show quite a bit...

My New Shelves (& first post!)

Ryuk's right arm is hiding... maybe pushing the giant monster away?
In the far back is the current UFC Welterweight Champ, Georges St-Pierre. I'm a quite a fan!

My New Shelves (& first post!)

Second shelf! My Pullips, Byul, Lati Yellows, Taeyangs and other randomness...
The chopper is from the Bratz dolls line. I repainted it black. It belongs to the black haired Pullip, Reiko.

Sorry for the brightness of this pic ^^;
These are my Boondock Saints customs, Murphy and Connor MacMannus...
I tweeted a blog post to Norman Reedus (who plays Murphy) and he actually tweeted saying "Cool" and linking to my post! I was quite starstruck haha

Mouseover = load notes.
My New Shelves (& first post!)

Tony Stark (Iron Man) next to my very first Pullip ever, Nara (originally a Pullip Panda).

My New Shelves (& first post!)

This is where it stops! ^^;
The raven haired Pullip is my Fallout character custom that I am slacking on making a Vault suit for ^^;
Then there's my Resident Evil customs... Leon S. Kennedy and Agent Hunk (dressed in random gear xD). I am a huge huge huge fan of Hunk.

Thanks much for looking! Hope you enjoyed~

      Thanks! It actually is battery powered... when he hears noise, he shakes the maracas in his hands :)

    Are the acrylic shelves pretty sturdy? I was looking into getting a glass shelf so that I could light it from underneath, but if acrylic shelves are sturdy enough, I'd imagine they'd work like a glass shelf for lighting purposes but less expensive.

      They're pretty sturdy to me. My walls are drywall, so I got anchor screws and use those. The acrylic is about 0.25" thick. My plan is also to find some wireless lights to mount underneath.
      I got them on sale from the Container store (the sale is still on as well): Single Acrylic Shelf Clear 24" x 8" x 2-1/4" h for $14.99 (sale price) :) One review said they put their collection of cookbooks on these, so I imagine they're good~

        I live in the middle of Louisiana, which is where...not much of anything is xD
        I ordered mine online: http://www.containerstore.com/shop?productId=10001027&N=&Ntt=acrylic shipping wasn't too crazy... about ~$20 for shipping 6 of the longest single shelves plus 6 sets of drywall screws.
        I originally was looking at Ikea, but shipping way too crazy for me!
