Knee Articulation Mod - HG 1/144 Unicorn Gundam (Destroy Mode)
I really like the Unicorn Gundam's Destroy Mode, however, it shares a design problem (in my opinion) with some of the better known gunpla models out there (HG Ex-S, etc.), limited knee articulation.
The legs can bend a little over 90degress. But as I've been posing gunpla for years now, I want more to get better and more dynamic action poses.
This is a small guide on how to improve articulation that involves cutting away at some material, so when using sharp tools, always exercise caution.

On the left is an unmodded leg. As you can see, some parts keep it from bending further. On the right is after modifications.

Step 1: Take apart the legs, and look for the parts shown above. Cut away at the plastic using the lines as guides.

Step 2: Now, cut away here. Be careful because this cut is kinda tricky. Take 'em further apart and do Step 1.

Step 2a: This is where it'll go.

Step 3: For the part with the verniers make a cut following the line shown above.

Step 3a: Be sure to sand it properly after cutting.

Step 4: Finaly, remove some material from these pieces, and do the same for both sides. Be careful to make the cuts as uniform as possible. And as always, sand properly afterwards.

After all that, the knees will bend much further, allowing for better action shots (can bend to a degree at the same range as that of a Busou Shinki's legs).
I hope you guys will find this mini-guide useful. Until next time then!
