Drossel's Parts Arrived - Some Fixing Up
Early this morning, I've received an envelope from the postman who passed by my house. I wasn't expecting anything (or at least I didn't remember that I there was something coming).
I browsed through the stuff written on the envelope and it had my name and address on it. Read on and on until I saw the end of the envelope with GSC's details on it! I felt a burst of excitement then realizing that it's Drossel's parts, finally here!
Around 3 weeks ago, I wrote an email to GSC regarding my request. They sent a reply a week after that (two weeks ago) and I quickly sent my own reply containing the specific parts I needed. They replied a week after that (last Thursday) saying that I should expect the arrival of Drossel's parts in a week... And well, after exactly a week, HERE THEY ARE!

Yoko, the gang's Mechanic and BlackSmith quickly ran into the envelope, grabbed Drossel's new Torso, and floated her up into her high-tech Anvil!
The part sent by GSC included the Torso, both arm joints, and the ball joint to connect to Drossel's "ball" abomen. XD

A few finishing touches by Yoko's translator/assistant Yuki.

Aaaaand, Drossel is back on commission!
I haven't done my own "The Awakening of Ojou-Sama" post yet... It'd probably already been a standard for all new Drossel owners, though I wasn't able to make mine due to Drossel's previous incapabilities.
Now that her arm is back on well, I can finally do a decent Photoshoot of Drossel, and an "Awakening" post!

wow I like the service they guarantee the parts ^_^
I myself am pretty impressed as well. Maybe GSC really does care about their customers! It's nice to see these "rare" companies nowadays. XD
Got no time to tinker with the camera?
Nah. Room light is horrible. Just plain Horrible. XD
DSLRs is low light capable.. XD And it's nice that the replacement parts and shipping are free.. :3
Didn't bother changing all the fancy stuff so I just turned the internal flash on and shoot. :))
I was actually even waaay too lazy to write this post... But I thought I should just let everyone know. XD
Ooooh... I remember now. The ISO was on 1600 so the pics turned out uglier than a normal bunch of random-shots.
I just pointed it out cause you were complaining that your point and shoot is weak and all.. You're getting a DSLR for better pics but.. XD
These were just "take-a-pic-so-you-can-post-immediately" kind of shots. Infact, it was taken just from my desk a minute before I posted em.
Arein... critical as ever. XD
Now that you've mentioned it, most my posts are critical 'bout something.. XD
It's just that I'm so into photography and stuff, and I tend to just to that. :3 Hope you understand ;D
No harm done! XD
It's actually nice to see people like you. I like it when I encounter people who tend to be critical about most things just like I were before. But then I read this Children's Story about the Velvetine Rabbit... XD
Excellent customer service is all I can say.
Yeap! And to think they sent this all the way to Antipolo!
Wow Drossel looks fine now and service is very kind.
Drossel is as good as new!
Yeah at least its free repair.
And you change old icon to Drossel icon :>
Yeap! Cuz now that she's as good as new, she shall be queeeen~!
But to sent in the replacement in an envelope... ^^;
Now awaiting your activation of Ojou! :3
An air-filled ZipLock bag wraped in 3 layers of bubble wrap sort of compremises for the envelope. XD Afterall, it's just the torso so there's not much damage that can be done. If it was the Capoeira Helmet in an envelope... well, BAD SERVICE is what's there to say. XD
Woah, GSC send you the whole upper body! Now this is what I called Excellent Customer Service :)
I'm waiting your version of "The Awakening of Ojou-Sama".
This also remind me, if I still got one last part of The Awakening of Ojou-Sama :D
Yeah! Your cute Awakening of Ouju-Sama! XD
Yeap. GSC asked for me to specify everything I needed, so I remember emailing something like "Torso with both the left and right arm-joints including the ball joint under the chest without the abdomen ball."
XD
My "Awakening" should be posted up by Sunday afternoon! I have so much free time tomorrow for some photo-shooting!
So glad that it all went well ^^
I was going to contact them today myself in fact. When I got a mine a while back I noticed that it looked like the shoulder joints weren't molded properly, so there were gaps between the parts of the joints... And that was before I had even moved them.
Since then, they've just gotten worse and are starting to split, even though I've only touched them a few times and I always very, very carefully move them. T-T
How did you contact GSC,Gon?
Yeah, basically, the primary problem was the huge chunk missing from the Joints' molds, plus the very very tight lock of the joints into the torso. The replacement part already had the chunks filled in, though the tightness wasn't improved so much. With a bit of "pushing into the torso" matched with a few movements would eventually loosen it up though.
I contacted them through email which you can see from their site. It's support@goodsmile.jp I believe. Though you chould check it just to be sure. ^___^
Thank you very much, I just e-mailed them. ^^
Same here, it's like the mold wasn't filled properly since there are cracks and gaps even when you don't touch them. It's such a shame that there's been trouble with quite a few Drossels, other than the broken and stiff joints, she's the perfect figma, lol.
Great photos btw, I love the last one. Drossel looks so evil :P
She's ready to ruuuule~!
Oh, I'll say this just again:
The tightness of the joints hadn't been improved so much, so the joints will still be pretty tight (though not as tight as the old one) but since the chunks of missing mold had already been fixed, a bit of struggling will get the joints to work just right. Just make sure u push the joints inwards while moving it around to lessen the possibility of damage.
@Gon 29point55: do you have to pay for the parts? did you break the parts ?
Since Drossels primarily had a Factory Defect, and GSC serves International Warranty, the parts are free, including shipping fee. (Wow, a rhyme!)
You can't help but to break the parts since a huge chunk of mold was missing from the joints, plus the deadly tight fit of the joints into the hole of the torso, it's fated to break out eventually. (Hopefully, the End-November Drossel Batch Release already had this taken care of)
Since mine broke off pretty early, I tried repairing it by putting a metal skeleton inside the ball joint to hold it together. It lasted 2 weeks and broke off as well. Luckily, GSC's parts arrived a week after.
Wait...why was Yuki's right hand made of metal? XD
I never had an "Awakening" posts too, just introduction. But I will look forward to yours.
I found it cool when I tried to insert Saber's hand-parts into Yuki. Having both hands metal made her look too bulky, so I thought one hand metal looked nice. xD
Thanks! My "Awakening" will be on its way! Probably up within two days since I have lots of free time tomorrow for photoshoots.
Ok so you can contact them for factory defects.
Since My Drossel has enough out of the ball joint to bend it slightly, that's a defect, however small it may be (It can still snap off easily by the looks of it).
What about Figma's that broke by accident?
Got a Yuki with a superglued arm here, a new torso and arm would be nice for her.
I don't think they'd do International Warranty if it's not a factory defect. So far, Drossel's the only Factory Defect that GSC had claimed. Though I believe you can email them for replacement parts for accident-broken Figmas. Though you'll have to pay a tiny amount for shipping, and a certain amount depending on the volume of the parts you'll need.
Though I'm not sure if this service is still open.
Never thought of having Yoko and Yuki on a team. A "quick fix" team XD Congrats on fixing Drossel, now you can properly play with her!
