Fate/ZERO

yaaaay, its out to watch now, complete with subtitles! Everyone excited?! (Have no idea where to stream - get thee to http://ch.nicovideo.jp/channel/fate-zero and watch!)
Wait patiently for the massive file to load on their site and squea in joy as Saber's final line of the episode is same as in Fate/Stay Night episode 1?
PS: I may have missed something or just can't remember, but why does Kirei have a Servant so early??? And why does everyone get their "Command Seal"s before relics and summons? shouldn't that be the other way around @_@

Oh thanks for the link, I was eagerly waiting for subs to come in. On a side note at 16:19, is that Tōko Aozaki from Kara No Kyoukai?...she resembles her very well. I figured it might be her since it is Type Moon.
I think the command seal bit is basically, you get a command seal if you get chosen by the Holy Grail but you can choose to sit out the fight. I guess as long as you summon the servant and keep it fed with mana you can have it as early as you like so thats that. From the moment the grail starts selecting people its already around to help summon the servant.
The first episode was nothing short of amazing. So much win and there wasnt even any fighting. I absolutely cannot wait for next week.
I know right!! They took their sweet time explaining the war to get the new~commers to the series settled in, and the fans reminded of the rules
"why does Kirei have a Servant so early??? And why does everyone get their "Command Seal"s before relics and summons? shouldn't that be the other way around"
****SPOILERS**** (for people who've not seen it yet, stop reading)
Not everyone summons their hero at the same time or the same way. Shirou didn't summon Saber normally, so that's why it seemed like a different order to the events than in Zero. In Shirou's case, he was carrying his relic unbeknownst to him. It's specifically noted as an abnormal summoning. Kiritsugu points out that there really doesn't need to a specific ceremony to summon a hero (though things you do durring them can effect the hero you are given like in the case of Zero's Berzerker). The Grail does the work, and as Alexeon said, the command seal is a stigmata you get if you are a suitable candidate for participating in the war.
I also found it to be weird how they set this up. But also since the war has been going of for 200 years and there seems to be kinda a political motive behind this, by getting there seals they can plan out how to either win or manipulative the war. Also how it states that the Grail will choose there master, and they can be not even have magi blood running through there veins.
But there is so many things that doesn't follow Fate Stay Night, and i hope to see more and maybe things will make more sense.
yeah, after I took a bit to think about it... Basically anything from Stay Night wouldn't really be the norm, as that war came far too early in the cycle and broke too many rules
I think there's a real "Caster" at foot... /rulebreaker >.> lol
thanks for the link. may i ask, what episode am i currently watching?
oh silly me. it's ep.1 -_-;;;;
its episode 1, and a new episode is to come out every week
Fate/Zero is also taking place during a normal Holy Grail Wars. The war in Fate/Stay is an abnormality in and of itself as it happens only 6 years after Fate/Zero rather than the normal 60. From the looks of it, some Masters get their command spells as many as 5 years before the war starts. Or in the case of the main 3 families, they already know they're going to be in the war so can most likely choose who among them is a Master.
Indeed, the 5th war ( Fate/Stay Night ) is very unusual.
Yeah, after I thought about it for a bit, duuuuh! Fate/Stay war broke all the rules and came far too early in the cycle
Right now I'm curious how Kirei will mess with the rules! From F/SN we know Gilgamesh will be his Servant on top of Lancer and now theres Assassin in Zero too?? too many servants!!
From what I remember from Stay is that Kirei loses Assassin to Emiya/Saber. He probably makes a deal with Gilgamesh (who can survive without a master thanks to Independent Action) after that since Gilgamesh is Tosaka's servant. Which implies someone kills Tosaka. My bet is Emiya himself or Matou. We already know only a servant can touch the grail from Stay, and Gilgamesh gets splashed with the contents so it makes sense the two of them pair up before the end of the war.
wow... many thing fall into place in one episode.
I can't wait to find out who the new heroes are! and how will Kirei change his lot to end up with Gil
They've done preview videos of the different servants so you could go look if you wanted. Not gonna spill that though.
Love the series and seeing Saber in a suit is gonna give me fan girl moments *_* I always love a woman in a suit but with Saber?!! *out cold from nosebleed-bliss*
P.S: Was wondering the same thing about the seals. Glad someone brought it up :D
yeah it seems everything we know of order from StayNight is actually wrong, as that war came too early in the cycle and broke all the rules. So order in ZERO seems proper, which does make a bit more sense - Holy Grail chooses you, you get marked with "seal" and then are free to track down a relic to summon your Hero to influence your strength in the "upcoming game"
First episode was amazing!! Hopefully the quality of the show doesn't go down the drain like so many other shows...and is it true the writer for FSZ is the same as Madoka??
not sure... I actually really hate Madoka anime (too sloppy!), but haven't read the Fate/ZERO novels so won't have final opinion on this series 'till the anime is finished
