Kids React to Hatsune Miku

KIDS REACT recently showed a clip from Hatsune Miku's Giving Day concert to American kids and video taped their reactions.

Some of these kids are quite hilarious.

you know, not many people actually go to youtube looking at anime meme, especially if they are just into watching stupid random videos or music videos

Here's the link to the video for those who are interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egcfC7PCneQ

Even with Toyota's advertising campaign with Hatsune Miku and Mikunopolis, I'm actually not surprised that these children in particular have no idea who she is. After all, she and the other Vocaloids are still a niche phenomenon (at least that's how I still see it).

I'm not an otaku and I like Miku's singing.

I see these kids grown up being forced to watch Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network. It's really all we (As in the u.s.a. anyway) have for our younger audience.

yup... my hatred of children has increased, and i don't particularly care for miku either but seems like these kids are all just mainstream followers which is sad considering they have access to computers younger and younger these days.

Actually when we talk about music or other arts, I think we could say "don't like" sth, but never compare what you love to what you don't like cuz it's sth about the feelings =3=.

Besides they obviously know nothing about vocaloid XD.

In addition, I think if they let those boys saw a 3D-Kratos with his killing-spree scenes, the boy may say "oh he is my IDOL", not what they had said as they talked about Vocaloid X)

I'm not sure if they were informed correctly, end product of what we hear is generated by software but the voice that was modeled and sampled was based on real person.

There American kids what do you expect .... it is funny I like their reactions ...growing up here the US we are taught that cartoons are for children and some of us buy into it and the lucky ones discover anime ^^ and the Japanese culture .... but if the kids only knew how over produced their American pop-stars are believe me anime pop-stars would be no different ...lol glad they we're exposed to it early maybe they will learn more .....

Kids are kids, they only know what they were taught, seen, talked about in their life. They still have room to grow up there before they can develop opinion on their own.

yes kids are kids we are all condition at a young age and it all carries on into adulthood but children do have an opinion from the get go and they aren't afraid to show it lol....unlike most adults ..Im glad that this children are exposed to different cultures

They aren't afraid to show it? I'm sure there are some but they also care about "fitting in" and not looking like oddball. If Miku gets on the mainstream popularity (someday) I'm sure their opinion will change because it's accepted widely all sudden.

I hope so it would be cool .... I mean we already have transformers bakugan pokeman beyblade power rangers ....so anime that have made the jump maybe POP artists would bring a refreshing change to the damage of over produced no talent singers anyways .....

That was too funny when that kid said Hannah Montana started acting like a hooker....LOL!!!

This was very amusing seeing their reactions. I can see that to someone who has no idea what is going on, watching something like that would blow their mind...lol! I get weird reactions just from people hearing her music because I have Miku's World is Mine set as my ringtone. I couldn't even imagine how they would react if I had them watch her live in concert. XD

The video is cute ~ I can't believe users are acting like this. So what that the children don't know who Miku is, it's not like it matters. It doesn't make them any less intelligent because they don't know what a Vocaloid is.

*sighs* Figures this would turn into a giant "Oooh ~ the USA is so stupid" tangent. I mean, really? -and no, in America we don't just believe cartoons are for kids. If you're going to speak for the whole of the country, at least get it right.
