Saki-chan in Canon Photomarathon 2011

Posted by TonyBSD [www]

2nd October 2011 Canon held a photo shooting event in Hong Kong : the Canon Photomarathon. I think those living in Singapore may be familiar with this event because it had also held in Singapore before. Several comrades of us including KK.Choy, SIU PING, DTS-ES and anthonywang had participated in the event.

On the day I had brought Saki-chan accompanied with me.

Saki-chan "go anywhere" with me in the Canon Photomarathon too.

Group photo was taken by the Canon's official photographer. Everybody was in high spirit and waving their cameras in their hand.

Saki-chan sat on the stage taking photo...
(Sorry for the messy wig, I didin't have much time allowed to fix it >_<)

During the rest time, Saki-chan got so many candies with her!

Three topics of photos were required to be finished. After finished the 3 stages a great souvenir was given to each person, which is....

The souvenir is a DD-sized Canon EOS 7D camera! It is a 4GB USB flash drive.

Hong Kong CPM gifts are really much better (may be our Singapore fees is lower and they just want numbers). Want one of the 7D >_<!!!

Here if we won the lottery, we just donated HK$100 to WWF and then eligible to join the event. I think Canon is using the gift to attract people to be their "moving advertisement boards" in the city... There were 1200 people participated in the event and walked all around in the city, I think Canon is very clever in the promotion.

I think Singapore should learn back from Hong Kong. We have 2000 shooters participated this year and wear their CPM T-shirts around ^_^||| (finally they have XL size for me this year...) but Canon could also do something like Hong Kong in donation as well. Our participation gifts are T-shirt, one A4 print, almost unlimted of Redbulls and a Canon Pomo CD this year. A side question: May I know what are the topics you have in Hong Kong this year? In Singapore, this year topics are Eat, Circle and Imagine.

          The three topics are:
          1. Green Hong Kong, Low Carbon Living
          2. Preserving Hong Kong Cultural Heritage
          3. Eat with colors
Each topic requires 2 photos. We had about 3 hours for each topic, no lunch time, kinda rush... The worst thing is, it was a heavy rainy day... Orz...

In Singapore we are only allow to submit 1 photo per topic only. Yeah, have to plan the lunch time as well. But with so many snack stores around Wai Chai area lunch is not that bad.

Except the first topic which is a bit difficult to think, 2nd and 3rd topic one can be quite spoil for choice in that area (except for the heavy rain...)

Umm... in fact people around Wan Chai area were treating us as invaders, because almost everyone rushed to the same places for the same topic... LOL!

haha...could imagine that, almost 1.2k of shooters with same T-shirt running around the entire Wai Chai area, like the officers catching street hawkers in the old days.
