Question: Fate/Zero Series

Hi! I just started watching the anime fate/zero and I was surprised because I saw a character that has lots of toy versions - SABER LILY! Who is Saber Lily?? Isn't she an old character from a game? Why is she in this new anime? Is this a different story or a continuation of some old story? Please help me out. I'm so curious because the story seems interesting. And I like the servant classes! It's like an online game turned into an anime. Sorry if I'm a complete NOOB about saber lily and her story. Thanks Comrades!

oh I'm sorry, I think her name was just saber but isn't she the one summoned in the church? around 44:44 of the 1st episode?

Saber is from a visual novel called Fate/stay night. Fate/Zero, which was originally a series of light novels, is a prequel to Fate/stay night. The Saber that appears in both Fate/Zero and Fate/stay night are one and the same.
Saber Lily is an alternate costume for Saber that appeared in the spin-off fighting game Fate/unlimited codes.

Well if you liked Fate/Zero you could watch the Fate/Stay Night anime :)
Fate/Zero is the prequel to it.
Fate/Stay night anime is terrible. Just read the VN for FSN. For Zero, learn Japanese or chinese. There are translations but for the most, its not finished.
I read the VN but I just suggested it as an easy way to find more out about the story.
Isn't there an english version of the VN?
I really need to read the Visual novel myself since it contains the stories about Saber Lily, Saber alter, and the original Saber(which I pretty much know the only one). Thankfully there is Wikipedia :) cause I was beginning to get confused of the new Fate/Extra, Fate/Zero, and Fate/Atarxia. The series is amazing I just need to catch up on it is all. Good luck :)
Actually the VN doesn't have anything about Saber Lily, sad to say ^_^;; Lily is just an alt costume for Saber in the Fate/Unlimited Codes fighting game. She doesn't play into the story. It's eye-candy, mostly.
original StayNight doesn't really have that much of Alter either... She only appears in Sakura-path timeline, is around for a whole 2 scenes and... well thats it
Saber Lily doesn't have any character behind her - its just as alternate costume design for the PSP game
Saber - the "original" Saber from Fate/Stay Night and Fate/ZERO is one and same person: King of Knights, King Arthur. If you'd like to know more about her, watch the original Fate/Stay Night tv series (or play the visual novel game! It lays out the info better, in my opinion)
The Saber summoned at the church is just the regular Saber. The Saber Lily costume has nothing to do with Fate/Zero ^^
Ranza. There is a translation. A full translation. It'll take you at least a good 2 days to read and it is still readily avaliable. Don't watch the anime as I said. Read the VN. The anime was terrible in every sense of the word "Rushed" and "muddled." You'll get more out of the VN than watching the anime and the TERRIBLE UBW movie. Oh. By the way, Rin-sama and Sakura-chan for the win :)
