Dollfie Curio & library

Posted by Goth_Loli_Mai [www]

I do not know where everyone else stores their dolls when not playing with them, but I had usually kept my girls in single doll display cases. Lara and Anya slept in more easily accessible cases because they were more "play" dolls. Still I wanted more a display cabinet type place to showcase them all together yet allow me to pull them out with relative ease.

So I finally broke down and purchased a glass curio cabinet I found on craigslist. As you can see, the girls fit perfectly. (Well, Anya has to sit on a box so as to not hit her head; but she's not complaining.)

Sorry about all the glare in the pictures.

You will notice that Anya also has a new wig. Her default wig became just too labour intensive to keep presentable. It took a bit to find the right colour red, but I absolutely love how she looks now.

To accommodate the new curiosity cabinet, I had to move around my book cases. I decided to finally make my myself a library. I'm very please how it turned out.

Just a portion of my Star Wars collection, which I'm slowly reassembling after moving so frequently.

Thanks. The internet provides too much of a distraction at my other desk, so I can concentrate much more easily at this desk.

Very nice cabinet! I like the wood look with glass. And all your girls seem to fit well too. Nice buy on this!

And Star Wars Legos! Yay! I have a bunch of those too but they're all put away right now as I don't have room to display them right now. You have more than I do tho! It was cool seeing those. =3

Thanks! You've certainly got me beat with respect to action figures and everything else though. :)

Ha ha, I wish I had less of them actually. The extra space would be nice to have in my computer room. I'd like to eventually thin out the figure collection so I can foucs on just the Ryomou stuff and maybe some other small series I really like.

That's a nice cabinet to safely store them in. Should look into getting one myself someday too.

Thanks. I've been looking for something like this for a while. I can't find a detolf, and a curio is insanely expensive new. So I was very happy to come upon this as I did.

Thanks, oboroneko. There has to be a good balance between protected from the environment and easily played with. If I will be moving any of the girls around I will keep them in either Lara's chest or Anya's violin case for maximum accessibility. If they are in the curio, I don't want to change their poses too frequently.

Me too. I did not take pictures when I was categorizing all of them. I had books all over the floor over the entire apartment. It's taken me years to acquire so many, but when the internet goes down, I will be ready. I even have books on how to do emergency surgery. :)
