New York Comic Con 2011: Saturday
Hello everyone! I haven't posted here in a while, but I figured I might share some pictures from the New York Comic Con / New York Anime Festival. As of last year, the NYCC and NYAF were combined into one giant show of awesomeness. I went on friday night and all day on Saturday, and I have to say it was a really awesome show!
I will focus more on the Anime side of Comic Con here (since this is a site about anime & figures). Most of these photos are from Saturday but I threw in some from Friday's show as well.
Please check out my Blog Post and Flickr for some more pictures from the con!

Entrance to the convention... Greetings Earthling!

Started off by heading over to the Anime Festival part of the convention. They had a stage set up with various events going on at different times; I think this was the karaoke competition. A cute maid tried her best at singing some J-Pop ^^.

Some more maids waiting by the sidelines.

They had some gaming tables set up in the seating area by the stage.

Very Cute!

These Portal costumes Win.
Some more Anime related cosplay below:

This portal costume wins even more. Just look at those boots!

They had K-ON! showing on TVs outside Artist Alley

One of my favourite series of all time!

Would this count as an itasha? In any case, its rather cool.

Angle Beats!

A human-sized Gundam statue. They has a whole booth set up that was selling Gundam kits. They also had display cases with various assembled Gundam kits on display.

Square Enix games was there along with a few other big names in gaming.

Long cat is long...

...No seriously... Longcat is Looooonnnnnggggg

Life sized Dalek is awesome

Big Optimus Prime is Big

Me Gusta

Lots of various figures at this booth.

At first glance, this booth looked to have a good selection of nendoroids. I went in to look at them, and to my surprise they were all fake. All these nendoroids you see here? Yup, every single one is a bootleg. This booth wasn't the only culprit as well; there were actually other booths selling fake figures. Actually, I almost bought a fake too. I was at another booth were they guy had some Black Rock Shooter figures on display. I looked at them real quick and it didn't look fake at first glance, so I asked the guy how much. The price seemed reasonable, so I said I'll take one. He was awful quick to bag it up (in a black, non see through bag), but while he was bagging I noticed he was selling some fake nendoroids as well. I didn't pay yet, so I asked if I could inspect the figure more closely. Upon further inspection, it turned out it was a total fake. I told the guy I would shop around a bit and come back for it later. I never came back.
You would think at a convention like this you wouldn't have to be worried about buying fakes, but alas that isn't the case here. Have any of you experienced fake figures at a convention?

On another note, would you like to make a contract?
Thank you for looking!

OMG! I love Kenshin soooo much! One of my favorites as well! ^_^ I want this banner!! XD
Really, All fakes that sucks had some suspection all these nendoroid were fake. Did they also have figmas as well?
Yea I know it's a shame. I don't remember if this booth had any figmas or not.. they were selling some PVC figures which were also fake T_T. Fortunately I didn't see any fake figmas at the convention.
Too bad about the fakes. There are several here I like.
At this booth as soon as i saw the one piece pops i knew everything was a fake. The prices were too low and you could just tell they looked cheaply made. Another booth that sold fakes had a sign that said please dont take pictures (for obvious reasons lol).
she got Mami's sweetness :3
looks like a pig lol
He looks so happy to be there, lol ^_^.
I'm sorry but that is just creepy >_>
Ui!! <3
I can't believe they allow the sale of boot-leg figures...did no one complain to anyone?
Me too bud ; _ ; me too..
I would have complained about the nendroids. It's getting out of hand how these people/companies or whatever they are are doing this.
