2nd Japan Trip - Day Two Photos - Nakano Broadway (& Akiba)
So, on Day Two, I spend most of the day in Nakano Broadway, and awesome Otaku shopping place in Tokyo. Bookmarking the day was Akihabara, since that's where I get the train from. I already posted up my loot from this day. Was awesome. Probably posted more memories of the day on that post too.
Again, I've got many more photos I haven't shared.
More photos from this Japan trip to come!

Checked out Akiba before heading to Nakano.

Fairly busy on a Saturday.

Another Akiba pic. Its always good being in Akiba.

On the way to Nakano Broadway. You have to go through this mall first. I love the tagline of those "Copo" shops - "Here we have all kinds of socks."

And the entrance to Nakano Broadway, not the Tomomi cut-out on the right. I have a bigger picture of that too if you want to see it. And a picture of a store which says "Nakano Broadway: Second Impact", but the picture isn't high quality. Let me know if you want to see it.

I grabbed some Tonkatsu for lunch at the same place as last year. It was okay, nothing special. I hate the way you sit all ronery at a counter at these kind of places in Japan. I got the pork cutlet and mince cutlet and miso soup and rice set. They also played a cool re-arranged instrumental version of AKB48's "Ponytail no Shushu" at the restaurant, which I recorded on my iPhone, but can't find a way to get it off.

Nakano Broadway was very busy on a Saturdayt. They didn't want you to take any photos of Tetsujin(?)

Lots of figures for sale. So many more photos of figure displays in shops, let me know if you want to see any photos.

And, yeah. You could buy Mio shimapan from a gatcha gatcha machine. And also other shimapan. Weird.

Some "Nakano Broadway-style" dressed girl playing Drummania at one of the many Nakano game centres. Lots and lots of pictures of the game centres if you want to see any...

Some old massive Evangelion figures. A lot of the old ones are bad quality but these ones are cool. I got told off for taking this photo :(

Massive figure in the UFO section of a game centre.

Many Eva machines

AKB48 advertising Wonda coffee. So, of course I bought some. Still love vending machines.

An awesome restaurant/bar area just next to Nakano Broadway that I didn't know about.

Cool restaurant on the corner.

More of the bar/restaurant area. So many of these little streets.

One restaurant with soo many lanterns.

Final pic of this cool area...
I could post a pic of what I ate if you want.

Evangelion PachiSlot. It was the first time I really got into PachiSlot. Most of the time it was on this screen, and occasionally PenPen or Ritsu would show up - but when it got into the Angel battles it was so so epic. I was kinda hooked...

Back in Akiba. Massive Tomomi ad on the side of Sofmap.

Another part of Akihabara at night. No electricity saving here - full of neon!

And yeah - my first actual arcade game 1CC. And in Taito HEY! of all places! Mushihime-sama Futari Black Label. Original, Reco, normal settings (they have another machine with too many extends). Very very excited. Only ever managed this feat once on the Xbox 360 port (but with a much better score). My hands (and the rest of me!) were shaking afterwards with a mixture of excitement, jetlag, and lack of sleep.
Day Three to come!

500 jpy for shimapan n1 :))
pretty ! X3
:) Nods. Was happy when she served me. Alkatraz ER is a good bar in Shibuya for nurse themed outfits too...
i hope someday i could go there and ask some Yahoo or other email to her X3
Asuka in her Apron spotted
What Asuka looks like after a few years? ^^
Why are you not going in there?!
I did. Mandarake have a strict no photo rule. So had to take this from outside. I bought some goodies from her.
Wow.....I want this!
:)
There's not enough figures of Misato.
!
Still shilling for EM. LOL. They had her pics everywhere in Yodobashi last May.
Got this same pics from last May
Love the BIG cans of Calpis. Really handy on hot days.
Never tried them. Are they like fizzy lemonade or Pocari Sweat?
Kinda. Calpis has a variety of flavors. Tried one called Calpis Soda Power V which was interesting.
Great pics. Love the cool displays throughout the complex including the two dead alien bodies. LOL
I love tonkatsu!!! I make some nice chicken chicken katsu filled with cheese with my curry!!! XD It great on those days when you miss Japan too much!
These streets make me think of omoide street or Golden gai in Shinjuku. Those are awesome places!! Love them all with their traditional Japanese style!
Where is Omoide Street?
The Golden Gai is cool though. Have to visit there soon - I'm off to Tokyo tomorrow for the weekend!
It's hidden right in the middle of Shinjuku! Here, take a look. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHqTgcpy-VM I totally love that place!!
Oh right cool. I remember now near the station there was a huge area which was kinda full of back streets etc.
Didn't make it to omoide street but the golden gai was awesome! Much shochu was drunk. Might take a look for that other place next weekend when I'm back in Tokyo
Oh man never tried shochu yet!! :( I gotta try it next time I'm in Tokyo for sure!!! Hope you're having a great time!!
Never tried Shochu!
It is awesome. I prefer it to sake. It is good "on the rocku". Although you can have it with either hot or cold water. Sometimes it is lethal. I prefer the potato stuff. Everywhere has shochu - some places have loads of big bottles.
Awesome pics again!! Brings back so many memories! Show us those gaming arcade photos and what you ate at the restaurant area!
Thanks :)
What I ate wasn't impressive. I do have some photos of the Nakano arcade as they didn't seem to mind me taking pictures there - most arcades don't let you. I've just come back from an arcade in Tsukuba actually, watched someone 1CC God Mode in Mushihime-sama Futari Black Label, which was pretty incredible.
Oh nice! You are now making me looking forward to my second trip to Japan too, haha. Good to see the updated shots of Akiba, still sort of the way I remembered it last time (about two years ago).
Oh, in this trip I will be in Osaka, three days four nights and it will be part of work, so I am unsure how many neat pics I can put up, haha.
Osaka - never spent much time there, the aquarium is nice though. And Den Den Town. Dotombori is a good sight. Maybe the castle if you have time. I'm only going back there for an evening to see a band in between kyoto and tokyo
I did one week of work - followed by two weeks of holiday!
The pictures are great, which I been there.
Cheers.
They are both really great places to visit if you ever get a chance to go to Japan!
