Nisei Matsuri 2011
Been a bit busy so this week's post was a little late (I know you all wait for them with bated breath, lol). ^^; Back in August I went to the first weekend of Los Angeles' 71st Annual Nisei Week Japanese Festival, held in Little Tokyo. "Nisei" means "second generation" and refers to the second generation of Japanese living in a particular country (in this case, the USA). The first generation is the Japanese-born immigrants who moved here.
The price of admission (which was free xD ) included:
• V3CS Cosplay Contest, hosted by V3 Cosplay Syndicate and Pacific Media Expo (PMX)
• 3rd Annual Tanabata Festival
• Japanese American National Museum, which had these exhibits/shows:
.....Year of the Rabbit: Stan Sakai’s Usagi Yojimbo
.....Year of the Labbit Custom Show
• Grand Parade, which I've never watched before (and of which I only caught the latter part since I was dining with my friends Aoi Mizuno and shyot when it began).
I also did a photoshoot with Aoi, which I'll cover in next week's post (EDIT: Here it is!).
