Ersa Flora custom eyes
Earlier this year, I was finally lucky enuff to have my Unicorn come home to me, thanks to my wonderful friend Zakuro. ( Luv ya! ) I was so very happy to finally have a Ryomou Shimei in my family. She was perfect in every way.
Except.... she wasn't....
It seems that after a few months, I was seeing that the eyes she came with were NOT her true Volks defaults. I had seen lots of images of her with a more green colored eye, rather than the blues she came with. So after talking to Zakuro for a while about this, we devised a plan to get my Mou-chan some custom eyes that were as close to the anime version of her as I could get.
Zakuro did some really great work in Photoshop for me and we went for 3 different designs to see which would be best for Ryomou. Two of these designs were taken from the Volks default eye pics we got online. The last set I had Scripple give me the crazy idea to take a picture of the actual eye from the anime and have THAT made into an eye.
So here are how things turned out!
This is the actual anime eye for Ryomou as seen in Ikki Tousen: Dragon Destiny. I found this closeup on one episode and then paused the DVD to take a photo with my DSLR camera. I then had Zakuro photoshop this image into the outline Ersa Flora provides for their custom eye setups.
These are one set of eyes that arrived from Ersa Flora. These are the anime design taken from the picture seen above. i asked for metallic eyes since Volks uses those a lot and I wanted her to have some shine. Out of the head, they seemed a bit too dark tho....
Here is a closeup of the anime eye with a flash from my camera.
So now it's time to install one into Mou-chan! Here she is in normal room lighting, no flash from the camera. I wanted to see what the eye looked like under different light styles and levels.
Here she is with the room lights still on but also with a camera flash. If you're wondering, I got that dress from FFM user cbr1000rr and his girlfriend. She makes such nice clothes! =3
Here's a closer view still using the camera flash.
Now I have turned on one of my studio lights and also used a flash.
And finally this is using only ONE of the studio lights. It takes very little direct light to make this eye shine.
If light isn't directly on the eye, it does tend to get a little dark, as seen here.
But if you have even a small amount of light going into the eye, it's just awesome! Look at that color!
I know her eye is out of focus here but I did that so you can see just how bright this eye is with direct light on it. But I admit, her other eyes are nice to see too. =3
Now for another eye. This is the green tinted eye that resembles the Volks default eye.
You can see here how its a lighter green shade.
But at different angles it almost goes blue.
And speaking of blue, this is the last set i got... the blue Volks style eye.
Here you can see it's a lighter blue.
But at this angle, it's almost green. It's really cool to see how these look under different lighting.
But here I am again back at the anime styled eye. Its my favorite and Mou-chan has decided that this will be her new default eye. I'm super happy with ho it turned out and can't say enuff good things about Ersa Flora. Look them up if you're wanting custom eyes at great prices. =3

I know I said this on the other forum, but those eyes really are nice! Gorgeous how they catch the light. And I agree that the anime eye is best--I think it's the higher contrast design that does the trick.
In that one shot, her new eye is out of focus, but her other ones aren't! *shot*

I used Ersa Flora when I needed some eyes done for Rika. They came out beautifully, and she even asked if she could use Rika's pictures as examples on her website! I'll definitely employ her again if I need some special eyes :3

Those are quite nice. Actually got a few standard eye creations by Ersa Flora and even though they don't have the same transparent layer to reflect light like Volks eyes do, they are quite striking in how the silver coating reflects light differently. They can be quite mesmerizing.

oh Ryomou has a new eye! i like it better too^^ though her original is more suited for a lighter set of clothes while this one is best suited for her darker sets, like her default outfit^^

Well, I got Ryoumou second hand, not new, so she didn't have her default Volks eye. She had a pair of Volks animetic blues that I liked but wasn't totally in love with. So now that I have this Ersa Flora one for her, she'll be keeping it as her new default. =3
